Not up to the running demands of midfield kms?

Our own defender Ryan Garthwaite was able to rack up 16kms and got the ball once or twice. Other defenders Gibcus 15kms the same Broad often racks up big ks without doing much. Brandon Ellis is a great runner as is Kmac ~average footballers.
FFS is it an athletics carnival? or footy? Why did we delist Garth? he and George should never be dropped cos they're fitter than Stack.

Castagna has become a meme for the crowd. They just groan when he kicks for goal. HOPELESS. I had front row seats at the Gold Coast horror show. I watched part of the first VFL game after he was dropped. 2 shots for goal one OOB and the other didn't make the distance. I'd be embarrased if I "performed my sport at the standard Castagna does.

Give me footballers like Cumberland and Mansell and Stacks every day. I doubt Stack'll be with us next year

I second your motion.

But he has been played in all but one of those positions, forward pocket. Good in theory.
i am a long way from punt road but my thought would have been george out, graham as sub to freshen him up as he running his guts out but toiling and struggling to find it and stack with that roaming half forward help out here and there/link up and kick a goal or 2.

Stack is all but gone, and the club know it.

Sad but true. Definitely a stengle scenario here hope stack enjoys his footy somewhere. In the EDFL ex AFL players are getting paid. So you can make a living out of footy at lower levels

This "Stengle scenario" triggers me. What did you want the club to do with him??? Awesome that hes turned his life around 5 years on but there is no way in hell you can blame the club for what happened.

The club has contributed fairly significantly to the situation by playing an obvious backman all season in the forward pocket. He has played one game at senior level, as a small forward. Good idea to try, but if it hasn't worked why would you not swing him back to get some form. He played half a game at half back and looked a completely different player. Next week forward pocket. Then when he did play a great game and was easily the most influential player on the ground they promoted George.

They were looking for a senior forward pocket early - then we found one in Cumbers - so i agree lets put Stacky back in his natural habitat at Half Back with Rioli, or even back pocket - move others up the ground -and let him hurt opposition again both with and without the ball .... with all of Vlas Stack and **** down back - not many forward oppos would enjoy that ....

The could have just started with the VFL and see how that went.

Not fussed if he leaves or stays tbh

4 years on the list and still not disciplined to maintain his fitness in the off season
He will be lucky to get a deal from another club and if he does will most likely have been let go by Richmond rather than him not signing

Yeah we know your stance on him

He just played his best game of the year and we know his talent
Be a travesty if we didn’t give him another year

Yes his talent is undoubted and i actually posted about his good game last week
but we have seen in the past talent only gets you so far without the work ethic and dedication to team rules and that includes coming back in pristine condition

Unless there is a reason we don't know about other than the old mantra of not coming back in tip top shape then he will easily get a gig somewhere else. They might even play him somewhere else other than the forward pocket.

The Old Mantra these days is : play him somewhere else other than the forward pocket.
or put him on the HBF

Fact is he always starts behind the 8 ball and spends most of the season trying to get upto speed
if he gets another year that could be his last if he doesnt improve this area.

watching last weeks game which he played very well you could still see he is not 100% in best shape
