I just think of all the clubs out there, who is there better culture and resource wise to assist kids like Stack? We can’t argue he was denied opportunities etc.
It took Stengle 3 clubs to pull his head in. I wish Stacky all the best, but, very happy we are now moving on.
Some times it takes losing your dream and facing reality to realise what a good opportunity you had. It’s not so much a new club works better for a player but a player works better at a new club

Sorry but I gotta correct you here, it's Richmond fan, I was a supporter from '93 to 2002. Although, I did buy the Tigers guernseys with the gold AFL logo on them (both H&A), does that make me a supporter? I must admit I bought them from Rebel Sports though.

West Tiger we hardly knew thee. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long

Don’t agree with not good enough, unless you’re talking determination to do what it takes in terms of preparation? Sydney had the talent to 100% be good enough

IF TOMMY Hafey was alive to see it, he surely would have issued one of his famous motivational speeches ahead of this weekend’s premiership showdown.
Be first to the ball, he might have demanded.

Go hard at it. Get your body over it — and never stop trying until the game is over and won.

Three years since the club lost its legendary coach and the AFL, one of its most inspiring leaders, wife Maureen Hafey, daughter Joanne and granddaughter Samantha said yesterday they were certain he’d be looking down with a smile on his face.

“I believe it, he’ll be watching,’’ Mrs Hafey said.

“Do it for Tommy.’’

Daughter Joanne said her father would have offered the kind of tips that stood the test of time.

“Dad would have told them to stick to the basics,’’ she said.

“You have to keep your eye on the ball. Dad was a big fan of kicking long and kicking to a position so that you’re in attack.

“They were the principles of his game ... that you make those opportunities and you just don’t stop.

“Once the siren has gone the game is over so you just have to put your heart on the line for the Tigers.’’

Hafey famously led the club as coach for a decade from 1966, ushering in an era of domination to snatch the silverware four times.

But the footy stalwart reinvented himself in later years, becoming widely known for his motivational talks and fitness regime.

Mrs Hafey said her late husband would have been wrapped with the club’s underdog status ahead of Saturday’s clash.

“He would have loved to be here and would have been glad to see them being so successful.

“He would just tell them to get out there and be the best they can be.’’

He needs to mature. Maybe a season or two in the WAFL is what he needs. I’m not sure being back in WA is great for him but I wish him all the best and hope he gets another crack at it someday

He’s too much of a nob and will struggle in the WAFL.
If he gets to a good club like south freo I think he’s got a shot at it.

Then again maybe he doesn’t want to play footy at the elite level and is happy just getting a kick on the weekend. AFL couldabeens are a dime a dozen. It’s not for everyone despite the talent

Isn’t that the truth, I think we all have mates or even ourselves that get to that crossroads when the invites to sides like northern knights come and after one pre season the guys who are willing fully commit separate themselves from the rest of us weekend Warriors

I think weekend warrior is a bit of a stretch for you.

Lets just say you have a footy at home for the time being. :p

Maybe Xav just not in the inner circle

“Richmond assistant coach Xavier Clarke is backing talented youngster Sydney Stack to retain his spot on the Tigers’ list for the 2023 AFL season.

Clarke believes the 22-year-old is one of the most talented players on the Tigers’ list and hopes he can improve his professionalism in the off-season.

“I think we’ll give him another chance at this stage from my understanding,” Clarke told SEN Fridays at the Top End.”

C'mon Sydney Stack fans - one more post to get this thread to 300 pages.....
