Wright had a minor win in court, had his bail conditions relaxed a bit. He doesn't have to wear an ankle monitor and he's now allowed to have four contacts.

Interesting group of crime fighters are gathering.

'The extraordinary scale of a Northern Territory chopper crash investigation has emerged after Darwin detectives revealed that seven of their major squads – including drug and organised crime – have joined forces with federal agencies to find out why Netflix star Chris Wilson is dead.
The NT Police Force has provided an unprecedented insight into the scope and scale of its search for answers, while refuting Outback Wrangler Matt Wright’s “disappointing” public statements suggesting pilot Sebastian Robinson was responsible for the crash.

Almost 15 months after the aviation incident that killed ‘’Willow’’, as Wilson was known, and left Mr Robinson, 30, with severe spinal injuries, NT detectives continue to painstakingly piece together Wilson’s final moments so they can bring those responsible for his death to justice.

NT police this week revealed to The Weekend Australian that the secretive probe has involved specialist detectives from the Major Crime Squad, Serious Crime Squad, Territory Major Crash Investigation Unit, Special References Unit, Fraud Squad, Drug and Organised Crime Squad, and the Territory Intelligence and Digital Forensics Unit, who have all helped secure evidence connected to the circumstances surrounding the crash.'

'In response to questions, NT police also confirmed they had engaged experts from various law enforcement agencies, including state and federal authorities, to scrutinise the evidence.'

'In a hearing in Darwin on Tuesday, Mr Wright's lawyer Giles O'Brien-Hartcher said the brief of evidence amassed by police investigators against his client was "substantial".'

Mr O'Brien-Hartcher put forward an application for disclosure of all the evidence before Mr Wright faces court to hear the case against him at a hearing scheduled for December.

"There's an enormous amount of evidence, and there's still more coming," Mr O'Brien-Hartcher said.

"We obviously need to know all of the evidence to properly ventilate the matter before your Honour," Mr O'Brien-Hartcher told Darwin Local Court Judge Tanya Fong Lim.

Prosecution says 150,000 texts in evidence

Crown prosecutor Steve Ledek said Mr Wright's team was not overstating the size of the brief.

"For the [Mr] Wright allegations, there is a considerable amount of material that will be over 26 to 28 volumes by its completion," Mr Ledek said.

"There's a large tranche of material that relates to Mr Robinson's phone, some 150,000 texts, which need some assessment in terms of disclosure, because it's not all relevant to this proceeding."

The court did not hear Mr Robinson's first name on Tuesday, but it is understood to be Sebastian Robinson, the pilot flying the helicopter that crashed resulting in Mr Wilson's death.

Mr Robinson was also badly injured in the crash.

Can anyone explain to me why there is a need to harvest wild crocodile eggs ? Isnt there a heap of crocodile farms around ? Is there an issue with breeding in captivity is it just in the too hard basket or cost issues and it's easier to get the eggs from the wild.

It's part of the Crocodile Management plan, as well as a financial opportunity for First Nations communities and businesses who export croc products,

In short, Croc numbers were in a dire state in the late 70s due to shooting professionally and cowboys. The numbers got down to roughly 5000 across Northern Australia. Since that time, with a ban of shooting and wild culling, the numbers are way in excess of 100,000.

As part of managing that increase in numbers, and a sustain to fuel the Croc product industry (and leaving wild stock alone - not eggs), they allow close to 100,000 eggs to be harvested (could be more now) from the wild with a cost paid to communities per egg ($$), which end up in captive enclosures purpose built to protect the skin (gotta protect the belly).

Breeding in captivity does work, but you cant guarantee you'll get the breeding right, as well as viability of eggs. For example, where i worked in the NT, we may get an average of 35-40 eggs per nest from captive stock, whereas a wild nest could provide up to 70, the biggest we got was a nest with 81 eggs. We collected from Maningrida, Ramingining and Malacca swamp, so a combination of remote and reasonably close to Darwin.

It's great fun, and so much coin to be made, hence the amount of farming that is done in-situ.

Thanks Percel....great explanation and probably one of the only wildlife management plans that helps the protection of the crocodile and supports jobs in harvesting and croc farms as well as providing income to traditional owners at the same time.

Don’t trust this bloke one bit.

He did the same thing Erin Patterson the alleged beef wellington poisoner did when she spoke to the press, wiped a tear from her eye and looked at it.

Not that he's been accused of murder but ... does he really not know their helicopter pilots might be using cocaine? And safety checks surely would have seen enough fuel in the tank so it didn't suddenly run out and death swing your man in to trees.

Wonder how many takes it took him and it still looks staged.

Crocodile tears..! Has taken no responsibility for what's happened yet it his business. Raking in the $$$ so he is hanging onto that for dear life. Cowboy attitudes. Doing the coke, jumping in a chopper with someone hanging off it, no fuel didn't check the gauge either, breaches pre flight protocol and someone ends up dead. If that's not Cowboy I don't know what is?

Allegations of hour meter doctoring (Saves $400k in a major Chopper Service) and a trail of text messages to destroy evidence left right and centre.

Business should be closed down to say the least and justice of Willow served. I bet you all the money Matt Wright wouldn't have hung of that Chopper knowing what he did yet was happy for Wilson to do it no questions.

Unfortunately Robinson Helicopters have the highest rate of fatalities "BUT" this is mostly due to their market which appeals to the entry level mum and dad flyers vs Professional Pilots etc. Perhaps a more expensive chopper would have alarms screaming re low fuel and the cocaine induced Pilot might have adhered to?
