I agree. The free kids idea is great marketing and a very good idea but probably has a very marginal influence on the attendance overall. If you are taking your kid to the game you take your kid to the game. Last years turnout was remarkable in all the circumstances. Probably the most eye catching Freo crowd ever when respective ladder positions are taken into account. This weekend will look after itself but 50K is well within reach.

Absolutely agree but that wont stop the haters on the 'crowds thread' Sunday evening stating well you guys let kids in for free blah blah blah, anything to detract from the overall attendance will be used....

Let them hate away AT. The G are predicting 50K plus. Whether the weather allows that or not is to be seen but fact is that only three clubs ( Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon ) could ever dream of drawing 50K V Freo. Those are the three clubs that will top the attendance ladder this year and every year unless one of other is out of contention.

Biggest game of the season.
Need every Tiger there tomorrow regardless of rain, cold or wind.

Ask NFL fans or European winter soccer fans if 13 degrees and a dusting of rain is a problem......no excuses. Those who want to be there will be. If that is 52K. Great. If its 40K then its 40K and we didn't draw the huge crowd.

Nah 12 degrees didn't keep me away

Weather did not keep anyone away MT. Those who wanted to go went and those who did not want to go did not go. Simple as that.

Fact is we didn't draw the huge attendance we wanted. However it is still the 8th biggest turnout ever in Victoria for Freo. Carlton have never drawn 40K VS Freo. Essendon have only done so once. Any 40K turnout V Freo is a good crowd. It is only poor when compared with the huge expectations but was it what we wanted? No.

I was there but 1:10 clashes with a lot of kids sport. Not surprising really.

Yep spot on i also posted that on the crowds thread main board, if the game was 2.10 or even 3.20pm u could add another 5K min, when i left at 11.30am it was 7 degrees, yes it was sunny and weather conditions dont worry me but it does for some people if ur feeling under weather and its 7 degrees trust me most would kick back on the couch and watch it in warmth than sit in freezing cold for 3 hours, these would be the 2 most common factors with the start time being the most contributing factor....

On a side note; I know of 2 blues fans who didn't go on Friday night cause it was raining i go but ur playing indoors

Last time I checked she was breathing. So you don't recommend the jap ones? Bad experience?

took you a while to come up with that :)

Seriously, get a life and stop abusing your fellow tiger supporters just because they don't go to games.

Busy working here. I'm just trying to harden them up a bit. If if was 3 or 4 degrees warmer there would have been another 10,000

So you think people who are at home with their kids and family on a cold day are gunna change their mind about going to the game because you call them shit supporters? You really are delusional about your importance in our club

Most of them probably aren't even parents. Gen Y kiddies

There would not MT. The turnout would have been almost identical.

Most of the best attended sports leagues are played in much colder weather...NFL, CFL, Euro soccer. Generally people go if they want to and don't go if they don't.

The reason there were about 38,000 tigers there was because theyere are about 38,000 tigerfans motivated to attend. Tella Green Bay packers fan it was cold on Sunday.
