From Recruiting Manager Bryce Lewis

“Oscar’s a boy from the Western Jets who has actually been training with Werribee, our VFL affiliate in the lead-up to the Rookie Draft. He’s a really good size at 192 centimetres and has played in all areas across the ground.

“He reads the ball really well, is a very good intercept mark and has a penetrating left-foot kick.

“He had some injury disruption so he didn’t get a lot of exposure at national level, but finished off the year really strongly with the Western Jets.

“As the co-captain of the Jets, he’s highly regarded for his character and leadership and you see that in the way he goes about it in the field."

We couldn't nab WHE in a trade, so we got a similar looking kid from the same Under 18 team.

I apologise in advance, but the way he plays kinda has a little Nat Fyfe about him!

Brilliant. I was trying to think of that plane. Was it the Junker JU88?
That's the Ju-87 Stuka, the Ju-88 was more of a fast and very versatile light/medium bomber that was a very good aircraft.

No, Oscar Junker = The Stuka

Love all the rookie draft picks.

Especially this one, think he will impress pretty quickly at VFL level, his game suits the slower style. He's got sticky hands and he's a real big body in the middle of the ground, especially as he will put on muscle pretty quickly in a full time AFL environment. Will be one of the better players at Werribee in the next 24 months.

Think he's a real shot at being one of the big success' out of this draft for us.
