Gets dropped and does his best prime Scott Lucas impersonation LOL![]()
VFL Showreel, R11: Thomas Edwards highlights
Enjoy Thomas Edwards' standout VFL performance for Essendonwww.afl.com.au
Doesn't have to be the go-to though, with Caddy, May, McKay(!!!) etc, surely? He has enough forward smarts to be decent at AFL level but he is not the go to guy at that level.

So much this.Because he has strong hands in the contest. Let’s face it we have lacked a marking option coming out of the back half for a long while. It is why Cox and Jones have played there.
They only have to find someone who can have 15 or so possessions and take 7 or 8 marks and it can change how we play.
The issue is that we aren’t drafting or trading in the player we need (including a ruckman who takes a stack of contested marks), we are continually trying to shoehorn a forward or defender into a wing roleSo much this.
We've been crying out for anyone reasonably tall that can take a contested grab off HB or wing which is why they've cycled through every man and his dog to try and find someone (anyone!).
It's the 2nd kick out of D50 that has been our Achilles heel for 10+ years.
Edwards is not likely that guy, but I can at least see why they've tried him, Cox, Jones etc etc etc.
It just hasn't worked
I think that the injury issue has hurt as well. A few players that would have been penciled in as wing are injured. The issue is that we aren’t drafting or trading in the player we need (including a ruckman who takes a stack of contested marks), we are continually trying to shoehorn a forward or defender into a wing role
It makes enough sense at selection to try these things, but it hasn’t worked once and you start to see the real issue is list quality / balance
Yes, it’s a different story if Martin is in the mixI think that the injury issue has hurt as well. A few players that would have been penciled in as wing are injured.
I am sure they would not mind getting Farrow onto the wing at some stage.
But yes previous drafting issues have not helped.
nah, he needs to play on the wing! for... um... reasons, he just needs to!Funny what playing a natural forward as a forward does.
Flankers have to chop out the wings. It happens in most sides every weekend. Whether that be back or forward flankers time on the wing at some stage is needed, especially if you have mid game injuries.nah, he needs to play on the wing! for... um... reasons, he just needs to!
