Huh? I was talking about Trump lying about his not having a relationship with Putin when he has previously said he had.
who cares, why are you shocked at politicians lying, well anyone lying for that matter, you can take the moral high ground if you wish. Obama and Hillary made careers through lying

thats true to a certain degree, Obama's gives Iran billions of dollars and no-one says boo. Just imagine if that deal was done with the name Trump attached instead of Obama.
It was/is Iranian money that the US froze and returned as per the requirements of the International Court.

The US would fight on their terms, not the Chinese terms. They'd first undertake actions to ensure air dominance in the south china sea, then move in maritime assets under this air cover to neutralise the Chinese islands. If the Chinese were stupid enough to send out their maritime assets to threaten to US they'd be wiped out fairly quickly. If the Chinese wanted to escalate it from their, the US wouldn't send in ground forces, they'd just sit back and degrade the mainland Chinese air-defences like they did in Iraq and then undertake precision strikes from offshore on criticial Chinese infrastructure.
they did that in Vietnam and Afghanistan but in the end they couldnt handle the heat, when you have to weed them out man by man they werent up to it, from a distance its a matter of military superiority but on the ground is a different story

No they didn't. The US goals in Vietnam and Afghanistan are totally different to the South China Sea.

The US military in the South China Sea would use it's Naval and air assets to dominate the South China and Chinese assets with zero ground forces required to win.

yet just imagine if that deal was done with Trumps name attached to it. The US dont owe Iran nothing, they went rogue in 1979 and knew exactly what they were doing, ironic that the soldiers were released the next day as well.

Not now, it's rightfully been repaid by Obama.

Trump has enough trouble working out the light switches at the White House let alone actually trying some diplomacy.

You have NFI!

North Korea is going to send naval and air assets into the South China Sea?

Oh and the Russians have as much issue with the Chinese as the US does!

Tell me why the US will need to commit ground forces against the Chinese to dominate/win in the South China Sea?

i never said they would, my original comment was a hyperthetical about a ground war between china & the US, nothing to do the the south china sea

you are delusional, i never said they would
No, you said china would roll them in a ground war, but the war would be in the south china SEA so its unlikely to involve a lot of ground troops

Youre delusional if you think the usa will attack the chinese mainland. Japan tried that and failed for 13 years. Mongol hordes only succeeded twice

The usa would have to commit its entire military and industrial strength to an invasion. And we all know thats not how the usa rolls these days

There wouldn't be a ground war between the US v China, the US would fight on it's strengths which is naval and air force and directly relevant to the current South China Sea issues.

Not to mention when those Chinese soldiers wearing hessian sacks rushed over the Yalu river in the 50s they literally kicked the shit out of the yanks and UN so badly that MacArthur tried to nuke Shanghai, the USA had a constitutional crisis and the President had to sack him for insubordination.

A lot of people forget that Seoul was actually taken by the North + China relatively easily. Thankfully for the people of Korea the UN returned and was able to at least push them back to the 38th parallel (whilst committing a shitload of war crimes against civilians).

Anyway my point is that if the west had that kind of issue against a relatively weak China compared to now, imagine what an actual land war within modern China would look like.

China also beat India's army to a pulp in the 60s and were scary enough that the USSR never genuinely considered attacking during the Sino-Soviet split.

Say what you will about the PLA (and there is ******* plenty to say) they have a pretty stellar record in combat.

Yes.
Not to mention the US has resisted ground force intervention in the ME ever since Dubya ceased is reign as POTUS so recent precedent of avoiding the use of ground forces is already evident.

Yep fight on your strengths not your weaknesses. That's why Australia has a modern Navy and air-force in the region with a smaller army; our strength is the fact we are an island nation with a massive maritime barrier that any attacker has to not only cross but control if they want to be successful in an attack on Australian assets.

True, although successive white papers note our decreased refinery capacity and lower energy reserves than most OECD nations make protecting the Oz-Singapore sea lanes vital. No army is going to achieve that.
