You don't punish the many to weed out the few, not in a civilised society at least.

It's like voter fraud. Find a story or two and try to turn it into something that suppresses legit voters who don't usually vote for you.

It would suit the GOP to wipe out a swathe of poverty stricken Liberal welfare voters. They see them only on paper and their missing votes are a win for them.
But the dead liberal voters make up the difference

Dont know, you are telling the story now but not saying anything.

I suspect you and your little mate Palace gun are the local comedy duo.

Dumb and Dumber, which one is which ?

Let's just hope his diplomatic naivety won't start any major war. If we can walk away from this car crash without that, then we'll have emerged relatively unscathed from a global point of view. Those poor f***ing Americans though.
You know, I'm not sorry for many of them, i.e. the ones who chose to vote for Trump, the ones who chose not to vote, and the ones who chose to vote for independents (even though they thought they were doing the right thing, their votes helped Trump win). They all got what they deserved in the end.

LOL what a ******* crybaby. :D

So let me get this straight... Republican President and Republican cabinet since January, Republican control of the Senate since the 2014 mid-term elections, Republican control of the House of Representatives since the 2010 mid-term elections, Republican-controlled Supreme Court and this is all the Democrats' fault? LOL what a rabble. :$
Just unreal innit? Wah wah wah, its everyone else's fault. What a master negotiator!

Considering more than 50% of Americans have consistently opposed Obamacare, yes, it will be easy to convince people to end a failed system.
Certainly a lot of people don't like Obamacare, they love themselves some Affordable Care Act though!

Playing the system.

It sounds like you have extrapolated your view of those two to assume a lot on welfare are like that. You dont really know how they funded their lifestyle. Were they selling drugs? Did they have money in the bank, or under the bed?

I have 2 friends who worked for the old Social Security, & now in Centre link. They had lots of stories a bit like the above. They busted a number of them, or the Housing commission did, or the Police did. Usually people they know dob them in. Living the life of Riley makes them a target from people who don't live like that. Its hard for most on Welfare, its annoying for honest people who survive on an ordinary wage. However the vast majority who were 'busted' had just made mistakes on their paperwork, or had mental problems & couldn't understand what they were doing.

They say not many people who 'play the system' get away with it for very long. The hardest to get are those associated with bikey gangs.

Conversely, what about the 'wealthy' who play the 'tax' system'. ? They hide income. They work for cash. They dont pay their fare share of tax. They are more of a drain on society than the Welfare fraudsters.

We have a whole strata of 'professionals' who look to 'play the system' to get rich clients out of paying tax. They like to push the edge of legitimate activity. Geez, we even have a PM who has money in a tax haven overseas. Hows that for fairness & equity in society?

Comment?
So you agree that there are many cases of welfare fraud?

I want the wealthy to pay their share too, but their tax minimising bothers me less, as they are still net contributors to the economy. They are earning big, spending big, and creating jobs.

Got any evidence of this aside from one bloke on twitter?
This has been proven by multiple polls over time. People don't realise ACA is Obamacare.

They also love individual components when listed out. Again multiple polls have proven this. I don't have time to go looking for, but it's been discussed at length in this thread (or part 1), and is easily googleable. Take a 10 minute break from infowars and go and educate yourself.

The GOP has poisoned the well on obamacare through outright lies.

Think that once they go belly up, not really net contributors.

This all has to be a GOP masterstroke designed to torpedo the USD ;)
There can be no other explanation as to the staggering incompetence shown with every attempted move on Health Care.
This Repeal vote will not get up in the Senate and why you can support a Party that is willing to deliberately inflict suffering on their people is beyond me.
GOP needs a massive enema as they are blocked up all the way to their brown eyeballs

I particularly liked.
After making baseless statements that marijuana is “only slightly less awful” than heroin and that “good people don’t smoke marijuana,” the attorney general, Jeff Sessions – who once “joked” that he thought the violent white supremacists of the KKK were “okay until I found out they smoked pot” – has established a task force to investigate the connection between marijuana and violent crime.
F***ing idiot.

Person A lies about having a bad back and depression to receive $500 of tax dollars a week on the DSP. They spend some of this money purchasing drugs in the untaxable underground economy.

Person B makes 2.5 million a year, pays minimal tax, but employs 50 people, and creates other jobs by building themselves giant mansions etc.

Who is contributing more?

The right to offer your services/skills at your own discretion without being coerced.

Universal healthcare is only possible here because we're lucky enough to live in a country with high wages/living standards coupled with a small population. We can basically just keep poaching doctors from poorer countries who are happy to work for what the Aussie gov can offer them (which is a higher wage compared to what the free market can give them in their own country). I can't imagine healthcare as a "right" ever being possible in comparatively poorer countries unless there's an extremely powerful force (like nationalism or religion) to incentivise doctors to work for significantly less than what their worth in the global market place

You get being better then person a is not an achievement right? Still an incredible amount of low life's who are better then person a.

Also, did person b earn his millions by building a business up from scratch or did he just inherit it from his dad?

Also your last point is ridiculous and very left wing Keynesian economics. If a person has money then it will create immediate jobs whether it is saved and given to a bank to invest in infrastructure or used for frivalous consumption like purchasing mansions. The latter case however is a waste of wealth in the long run as over the top mansions like roads to nowhere are of little value to society.
