A serious statement guys. Trump has the ability to go down as the greatest president of all time........

Trump has two pathways, go down the route of doing everything negative he has stated and being bogged down in the senate and courts. If he does this, he will be remembered as the president most think he will become.

OR he could

set himself up to quit at the right time.

Let's face it, he's a businessman and doesn't really want the job.

if he put forward sensible bills to marry the US's declining power globally and post industrialisation he would probably fail like others before him but he would go out a champion. ie if he put forward sensible gun laws, 4 weeks compulsory annual leave and healthcare. He could then throw his hands up in the air and quit just before the the mid term elections.

This provides the perfect opportunity to exit, exit with a legacy of positive agenda and a taste of lost opportunity for the US.

Ego drives this man and there is nothing better for Trump than going out a champion and on his terms.
His gigantic ego won't allow him to quit. There is no way on earth that would happen no matter what transpires in the coming months.

Why can't these two trump threads be merged . It's driving me nuts flicking from one to another..

Because you're supposed to be praising him in here, while slagging him off & throwing darts in the other thread.

Not much left to praise any more though.

Even the trump cheerleaders on Fox now are struggling to keep the faith genuine.

Even the head cheerleader O'Reilly can barely contain the dismay and disappointment in his soul.

He actually called Trump a vampire the other night making a quip that the prez doesn't sleep and waits for the sun to rise for his first tweet of the day.

Because you get banned for saying 'boo' in the other Trump thread if you don't support Hillary.

Recognising that a diplomat with fifty years of experience will do a better job than an orange sex offender with no experience at all is hardly a ringing endorsement.

Politicians can't quit because of their ego. They persevere because of their slimy nature.

Businessman cut their losses quick because of their ego. The persevere on as long as they believe they can smash through barriers.

Trump has gone bankrupt in the past which suggests he does know when to quit.

There is zero chance Trump quits.

Once he gets past this initial frenzy of ideological crusading he would be more likely to delegate all the menial stuff (ie. anything that does not affect the Trump empire which is obviously the main game here) to others whilst holding the office for his own personal gain and the republicans will have no problem with this as long as each stays out of the others way.

No chance he backs up for another term though.

that's interesting given the deals between the bush family and the clinton family

also closer to home the deals between turnbull and whitlam

suddenly you realise how cosy it all is with politicians.

A lot folks don't realise that back in the day, banks were lining up on mass to lend money to Trumpy for his many various building development projects.

Trump didn't care about being bankrupt more than once because the banks had no choice but to take control of the properties and keep the Trump name attached to them.

Having the famous Trump brand name still associated with these failed business investments was in the best interests of the banks desire to get their money back.

And in Trumps own mind it's a win win for him because people quickly forget the bankrupt issue and keep seeing the Trump name continue on as if nothing ever happened.

Crazy stuff. Only in America.

WTF is an "illegal Alien"

Does USA immigration policy make provision for legal aliens o_O
Ask Sting,
"If manners maketh man as someone said
He's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say

Whoa, I'm an alien
I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York."
