What is your ideal government/political philosophy?
I'm a fan of the Declaration as any regular reader would know....Any true Democracy entails a full transparency of all aspects of government, including those independent checks & balances put in place at all 3 levels of government....What we have in present day U.S.A is anything but, with all these so-called 'intel-agencies'.....Which are code for perversion, corruption, cover-ups & tyranny....Truth & social justice have no chance under such a code....It's congress is bought & owned; & the people have been stripped of any say, in spite of the farcical elections run by the corporate owned & run duopoly, offered up as any kind of real choice or opportunity for change in societal direction.

"A government of the people by the people for the people"?....Present day U.S.A is "A government of the corporations, run by the corporations for the corporations.'....It has become nothing other than a Fascist Corporate Oligarchy....And what has made this all possible is the Fed reserve being owned & run by private bankers, A fatal flaw enacted at the beginning of the First World War.....Kennedy tried in vein to correct that flaw, & he & his brother paid with their lives for it.

The U.S today is the Fascist corporations versus the people.....Democracy is it's avowed enemy....And the MSM represents the mouthpiece of these fascist corporations for the enactment of the continued slavery of it's people....Any anyone who cannot see this is a fool.

"Stop buying into this [alternative media] bullshit. You're getting played. If it's not a "main stream" news source, that means they don't have anyone to answer to and nobody will lose their job if they report inaccurate information. You're not "woke" for reading alternate news, you're a dipshit. Rather than poring over old news clips to prove that 9/11, Sandy Hook, or the Boston Marathon was an "inside job", you should go outside and get a job." —Maddox, Your alternative news site sucks

There's been plenty of evidence, whether or not it turns out that it can be proven that there was collusion is a different matter. Denying that there is no evidence at all though is simply delusional.
I'm afraid there hasn't been any evidence at all, as large nos of congress persons sitting on their committees have stated publicly --- along with the expert witnesses like James Clapper etc.

wapo, nyt, cnn etc seem to be hanging their hats on Mueller in the hopes he has the goods - ie to confirm what their own sources at the highest level have been telling them that the evidence Trump colluded with russians to swing election is cut and dried but mueller and they are sitting on it for tactical reasons.

Which country is ideal? (as you appear to have a real set against only USA) Answer ???
Russia? Did you answer: LOL No, to this question as I don't see how it fits the first question?
Geebus.....Talk about being unable to read between the lines, for crying out loud.

Last I checked Mags, Russia doesn't pretend to be the defenders & upholders of freedom & Democracy.....I am so hard on the U.S.A because of it's hypocrisy & abject failure in destroying, corrupting & perverting, what was almost the most perfectly drafted constitution mankind could imagine/compose, on behalf of it's founding fathers.....The U.S Declaration is pure Aristotle/Locke Western style democracy for Christ sakes Maggie5....Sheeeeesh.o_O....What we have now instead, is a corporate initiated fascist coup, that pays lip-service only to the Declaration, via the press, while in actuality, shitting all over the declaration & it's tenets of Freedom, Transparency & Democracy as enshrined within it's constitution....Power, corruption & Tyranny have replaced Freedom, transparency & Democracy in current day U.S politics....And it is the Fourth Estates corruption as a cover & mask for the country's dark underbelly, that is the key component to the corporate fascists take-over & success.

Whilst I may not agree with Obama not mentioning Islam and Terroism, these are the reasons why he probably avoided doing it.
1. It gives support to the notion that the Terrorists are representing Islam, and legitimises their cause somewhat whilst demonising law abiding Muslims.
2. There is a certain power that comes with a presidential statement. You have to be careful on how some might interpret your words.
3. It gives power to Islamaphobic rhetoric, and the type of behaviour we saw in UVA (the us vs them mentality).
None of those points are legitimate reasons for Trump not disavowing white nationalists.
Well there is a certain difference .... ie radical Islamic terrorists behead, set fire to , stab with machetes, fly planes into skyscrapers etc etc while the white supremicists appear to be too lazy to do anything much. In fact the last time the neo nazis were causing problems here was 25 years ago when Russell Crowe was giving birth to his film career on the blood soaked streets of Melbourne.

Not a safe space for women though...
Strangely enough, I accepted what the media said when Kelly was appointed and thought that was a good appointment. He then comes out and makes the recent speech and mentions respect for women. This was then followed by calling the Congresswoman an 'empty vessel'.
Hasn't taken him long to become a Trumpkin.

I have since had a closer look at his background:
  • As the General in charge of the Guantanamo Bay Detention facility, Kelly publicly criticized efforts to close Guantanamo (Source) and was accused by Obama Administration officials of working to undermine the President’s efforts to close the facility. (Source)
  • Opposed and publicly criticized the integration of women into military ground combat units, arguing it would lead to lower standards. (Source)
  • Defended the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques”, such as waterboarding and rectal feeding. Kelly went on to dismiss the criticisms of human rights groups as “foolishness”. (Source)
  • Testified in support of an officer caught urinating on talibani corpses. (Source)
  • Supports the imprisonment of terror suspects without trial. (Source)
  • Criticised by Amnesty International for his “unsafe and inhumane” treatment (Source) of Guantanamo detainees on hunger strike to protest their imprisonment. (Source)
  • Supports the war on drugs and opposes legalization or decriminalization of any drugs, including marijuana. (Source)
  • A proponent of border security, Kelly believes that “no wall will work by itself” and has warned about the “existential threat” that unchecked migration poses for the nation. (Source)
Seems just the type of General that Trump admires. Another one filling the swamp.

Your critiques could be applied to any western democracy. Is it even possible to have a functioning democracy without some of the 'intel agencies' you decry?

You see anyone who partakes in the game corrupted by the game?

I agree on the outsized influence that corporations have in our body politic.

What are your policy positions then? Do you believe in universal healthcare as a right/optimal goal, worker protections, more/less regulation, tax cuts. These are all pretty much issues where republicans and democrats are generally diametrically opposed.

I'm a Stein & Sanders fan....Anyone who follows Jimmy Dore, as I do, cannot be anything other than a progressive.

It's such a shame that the Dems have abandoned all the principles you have set out above....Neither Bill Clinton nor Obama can be considered to be successes....Both acted much in the same way as a conservative would, & have only deepened & widened the issues plaguing current day U.S, in selling out the DNC to the Banking corporations & Big Pharma....Bill passed NAFTA & effectively destroyed the unions power as a result, allowing free passage of manufacturing corporations to take all their jobs abroad....Bill also deregulated the banking industry by eradicating the checks & balances that had been in place since the New Deal under Roosevelt, leading to the 2008 sub-prime collapse....Which effectively led to 5 million families losing their houses & a huge hit to the middle classes again....Obama, other than Obamacare, did nothing progressive on home soil, & only expanded the wars abroad from 2 countries to 7....Massively increasing the debt burden on home soil as a result of such a policy, which continues to balloon out of control to this day; Meaning that WW3 is the only inevitable outcome.....Both of them are known George Bush Senior patsy's....Clinton goes all the way back to the Iran Contras affair with old Georgy boy & Obama's parents were C.I.A, who served directly under old boy Georgy.....It's all a fix & it's way too late to save it now.

Stein is just as corrupt as anyone if not more than some.
You are yet to tell me which country is ideal. Personally I don't think one exists so not sure why you only single out the US.
You are solely anti USA and appear to parrot from Russian propaganda playbook.

Now there's a false equivalency if ever I've heard one.....The Kennedy boys paid with their lives for going straight.....The Bush's - on the other hand - represent 3 generations of war-crimes & treason unmatched in U.S history.

George Herbert Walker Bush is by far the worst of the lot.....The U.S equivalent to the 'Godfather' himself....Dubya was but a mere Daddy's sock-puppet - as if you needed telling that.

Comparing them favorably to Trump is a joke....Unless you prefer you're wolves in sheep's clothing, that is.....At least with Trump, you get what you see....Up front shyster cronyism.
It's a similar situation with the Clintons - people pay Bill millions to hear him speak (if he still does that...looking increasingly fragile of late).

Clinton oversaw the CIA drug running operation through Mena airport during his tenure as Governor of Arkansas in the 1980's.

No she isn't...Stop talking empty-headed, baseless nonsense.

Yep....The Iran Contra's back in 1979....Those of us still old enough to remember the trials of the appointed fall guy in Oliver North, know it well.

That's how the Clinton's copped their first big break under old Georgy Bush....2 no-names willing to sell their souls for a shot at power & fame....Bush senior & Kissinger had been grooming them as the patsy's to corrupt the DNC from within ever since....And they've succeeded.
