I wouldn't either. There's no legal basis for these sanctions. Plus, sanctions can technically be classed as an act of war!
The senate and congress have voted for it overwhelmingly. He said he would. While I am no defender of US foreign policy Russia has invaded the Ukraine, murders journalists and other dissidents and Putin is running what can only be described as a mafia state.
Also Russia is pretty much at war with the US in Syria anyway. Syria is nothing but a fight of control of the energy supply to Europe. US, Saudis, Europe and Turkey want to run a gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe. Everyone agreed except the Assaad regime. Since then the "friends of Syria" have been working to undermine Assaad. Russia is fighting to keep control of the gas market in Europe.
Meanwhile, the oil prices are kept low by OPEC to undermine Russia.
Back on topic. Trump is a petulant child with very low intelligence. He managed to ride the wave of anger towards the establishment by spit balling to crowds in the campaign and writing "policy" based on positive responses from the crowd. It was like watching Frank Drebin umpire a baseball game in Naked Gun.
Now this abject failure of a man who was gifted over $1 million to start and then went bankrupt more than 6 times, but was continually bailed out by his daddy. Then inherited over $240 million blew it in less than a decade. Since then he has been gorging himself on inflated property prices selling to Russian organised crime figures, but still struggles enough that he needs to perform on TV as a cartoon figure of an executive and run nickle and dime scams like Trump "university". We all know that dealings with Russia MAY be part of the reason he won't release his tax returns, but we can be sure that he won't release them because he is worth far less than he says. Estimates are less than $750 mil.
If he had have just left the money he inherited in blue-chip stocks and not touched them he would now be worth over $8 billion. The sum of this man's efforts are less than one-eighth of doing nothing.
It is why he manages to be, on one hand, a crass and crude thrower of insults, while simultaneously, on the other hand, have the thinnest skin of anyone to ever occupy public office. Deep down he knows how pathetic he is and is trying hard to cover. "Am I still a failure now daddy?"
He's going to be caught as well. He's just too stupid to maintain a conspiracy for too long. We see him continuously send people out to lie then throw them under a bus within 24 hours.
McCain, Corker, Bush and Laker have all warned you.
