So much going on behind the scenes. So much money and other resources being used and, in my opinion, wasted by both sides.

Instead of the tit-for-tat "Your side is going to jail."
"No, YOUR side is going to jail"
that has been going on since the primaries, how about a non-partisan discussion of the Korean peninsula? Anyone?

All looks promising thus far, but can we trust NK?

I have doubts on both sides being able to offer up the concessions in a way the other side can accept

Usa will be wanting full denuclearization, but over what timeline, which inspections, what degree of access, and what stage gates?

DPRK want usa troops out of south korea, but over what timeline, is it perm only or visiting troops/vessels too, will sth korea and japan agree, and will no more joint exercises be accepted?

The devil will be in the detail on this. DoD dont want to leave the peninsula, and are genuinely concerned trump may agree to a usa exit.

Fwiw i have no issue with a staged usa troop withdrawal tied with staged denuclearization. I know im in a minority however

Teflon Don hired a team to 'drain the swamp'. Now, he's replaced them all again, and is being hailed for 'draining the swamp'. He is the definition of Deep State.
Get what you are saying, but "Deep State" has an actual definition, and it's not at all what is happening in the USA.

In America, civil servants are revealing facts about what the Government is doing that they are lying about, that are illegal, that are morally dubious, etc.. In response, they are labelled as "Deep State" to link in with conspiratorial ideas. It's spin.

If Trump and his team don't like it, they shouldn't have behaved so poorly. Just like the fact they could've had more control about gossip coming out of the White House by actually trying to get 'the best people' in there, rather than just anyone who would suck up to Trump enough for his liking.

China's military build-up and tensions over South Sea/Taiwan I think limit the chances the US will agree to step back from SoKo without a concession from China.

I can’t even see Trump agreeing to a total withdrawal of troops!

I respectfully disagree. I think the yanks modern military gear is infinitely better than what the public are aware of. This is based on both online research and a previous career in the aviation industry. I'm open to the idea that I may have just been fed propaganda, but I don't think they'd reveal their hand and roll out the extremely expensive stuff, just to take out a few buildings in Syria that they don't really care about.
Quite possibly your right
But Russians may well have simply jump ahead in jamming disabling or interfering with electrical and guidance systems. Thus effectively neutralizing any other technical advantage.

The normal USA triumphalism is missing from the Syria strike - except for Trump but he is expected to sell it.
The strikes themselves don’t make any sense - the trains are acting cocky

Not sure how you read it

But USA are not normal chess players.

"This is a clear case of the media training your brain people". Ironically, it's true only in reference to the meme. This is someone trying to manipulate people, and that person is whoever made the meme. My first thought was it was probably two editions of the same paper. Snopes says that is exactly what it is. The second one came out later in the day, when more things had happened (i.e. there was new information).

Media companies do often vary headlines on stories, particularly now they need to encourage people to click. Skeptism about word choice is something everyone should have, and should apply to everyone's word choices, not just "the MSM".
