Maybe we need to split the country in half, two countries. One country for the working class/conservatives and the other for the lefties. The leftie country could have free comprehensive healthcare, free Uni, free housing for all, open borders, a top tax rate of 70% for those earning above $150k (excluding academia), gender-neutral primary schools, legalized Marijuana, decriminalized heroin and Peter Garrett/Penny Wong sharing the Presidency.

I wonder how the two countries would look after 30 years.

I've said this before but I'm actually shocked with the way the media has acted over the last 2 years. As I said news.com.au almost has 2 anti-Trump articles a day. It would seem in the US the media are much tougher on the Republicans than the Democrats. Obama was given a dream ride.

Where would you put them, with the "progressive" left? Nope, definitely with the conservatives. When you're paying a mortgage and/or putting your kids through school being told you are not diverse enough or gender neutral considerate really starts to grate after awhile - hence Trump/Brexit/Italy etc.
