Farrow ain’t winning taps in the ruck and roaming free from the centre bounce. POD potential is super- tempting.

Blakiston as a fulltime ruckman is probably a good pick, it's how long he stays in that role with Visentini and Bryan around, and how many ruck minutes Wright ends up covering.

I think Farrow could be a good pick if he has job security, a guy who elects to kick at every opportunity usually scores well.

Im just not a massive fan of the $200-$300k rookie types unless their injury comebacks of proven scorers or someone who you really think is going to have big scores. I doubt either is a keeper so Blaki needs to score a lot higher than farrow to generate decent cash....this is probably a convo for the SC thread though

Even though it was a praccy I thought he played a good game. I think I’m on the Blaki bandwagon now.

Even though I don’t think he will ever reach the heights of all Australianship I like that he never plays flat footed unless he has to.

He looks pretty fit and I liken him to running water always fluid never stagnant. He is the rolling stone that gathers no moss. He reminds me a lot like John Barnes 2000.

I better stop now I’m getting to carried away there is still a whole season to play out. At this stage for me he looks pretty good value pick from Rosa.

Wasn’t just the leap over Nankervis, it was the hits to advantage that made him so valuable. Goldy definitely deserves some praise as well for tutoring him, that wrist position looks Goldy all over at CBAs

The new ruck rules suit him, not sure if Rosa had that plan at the time or not but it’s worked out well at a time when we’re thin for ruck experience.

I’m sorry.. but why are we rushing to give him a multiple year extension. How about we see how he goes in the first month of the season before we assess. If he gets flogged and we’ve signed him then we’ve got yet another list clogger

$295,500 defender in Supercoach… aw gee, I dunno… should I?
Yes Lock and load.

He is actually performing quite well with the new ruck rule.
should be added to rucks later so can swing around.

I only have Sharp, Parish & Blakiston.

Johnson could find his way back into the team if named.

I hear you but I would think fairly low risk... typical mature, back-up ruckman on low money. All clubs need one. I think based on last year they know he's comfortable at AFL level so has shown enough to lock down that spot. If he turns out any better, it's a bonus.

He's clearly going to start the year as our #1 ruck, if he has a good couple of months to start the year then it's fair to say offers would come in for him as clubs do want reliable back-up rucks.

share this wholeheartedly. i also think from the "humanitarian perspective" giving a bloke who's uprooted his life to move across the country to play football some job security beyond 2026 isn't exactly a bad thing

And playing him in the position he was actually drafted for......give him a crack, Blakiston came on in leaps and bounds when given the number 1 ruck role for East Freo in the WAFL.....obviously a step up, but well worth a punt.

If they believe he is AFL quality, the reason to sign him now vs later is really a $ gamble

If he stars all year he’s more expensive. Sign him now, he’s cheaper but you risk him getting hurt or being exposed on quality.

For mine, he is way ahead of some of the back up rucks we have had over time, eg Zac Clarke.

At the very minimum he will be a cheap back up who can fill in two spots. Thought he rucked pretty well against DeKoning and Nank the week before. Personally, I have seen enough to say I have no issue with it.
