Like him, a good fit for the 5 on the bench era given he can run and play a couple of different roles.

Reckon he has potential to be that kind of cult hero role player all good sides tend to have and all good coaches tend to fall in love with.

Agree. He is perfect for it. I really like him as a player. He is never going to be a star but you know that he can go into the ruck or help out in defense or even forward if needed. Not many players can do that. He is also very mobile for a big man.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with him, the new rules seem to suit his game. People tend to forget that he's supposed to be the new Goldy and he's only playing because Bryan is injured.

Not a coincidence our lift in the midfield came when Wright moved into the ruck at half time. I like the way Blakiston goes about it but I think he's a relief ruck at best. Doesn't impact anywhere around the ground. Wright was showing what rucks need to do defensively and it made a huge difference.

With May contesting well, 2MP must start in the ruck against Gawn.

The guy is the third/ fourth string ruck. He is basically the guy you keep on your list for 4 or 5 years as the backup for cheap. You know he will come in and give you a half decent option when others are injured or out.

Yes, but we are a bit light on. Definately a big reason why we are smashed in the midfield. Gives away way too many frees too.

After last night 2MP should be first ruck until Bryan is back, which may be 2-3 weeks imo.

Blaki a break glass option. Gives his all but does struggle.

There's a fair difference between Tim English and their next best ruck option which apparently was Croft with some help from Lobb/Darcy.

If Wright had started in the ruck and Blakiston came in at half time we'd probably be saying the opposite things.

Whatever your opinion on Blakiston though his flexibility to be able to play at key defense is very handy. Especially with Reid/Ridley in our team.

English went down 11mins into the 3rd. We'd already gotten ontop and kicked 3 in a row by then.

I liked him last year and certainly backed him in to make a go of the ruck this year. He’s been okay but it certainly felt like we looked much better with Wright in the ruck.

What your 3rd ruck needs to be winning the ruck every week? He is certainly half decent. The only thing Xeri did better last week was win his own clearance.
It is not the ruck that has been our midfield issue.
What other club runs a 3rd/4th ruck that can come in at the same level as those replaced.

Seems a half decent player. Has some skills - is nimble, good user, decent hands at ground level - but a ruck he is not.

His manager did well to get a 2 yr contract based on pretend interest from other clubs - His supposed leap looks nice at opening ball up, but that evaporates when he gets destroyed around the ground as an undersized ruck.
He’s a novelty but I’m not sure he’s afl level at any one position, but might make a career out of being a multi position player at a poor club.
Still unconvinced on him…

Cox played second ruck for a bit yesterday.
He had a shocking game but that is our ruck stock.

Sounds like some of the midfield. Who are we playing ruck then?
Gerryn would be next but he has done zero ruck this year.
May? Do we really want to pull him out of the forward line?
Cox? He is only just showing something better than poor.
Said before the season started the ruck will be what it is.
