Needs an AFL preseason.

Bang on.

He's played overawed game 1 and then we've followed him up with one of the best teams in the league. I'm glad we left him in because I hate debuts leading back to the VFL but that should be it although, as a disclaimer, I'd like to see what he looks like on our actual home ground.

Yeh fumbles and rushed kicks and doesn’t like the tough stuff.
2 games and 2 tastes for it but we aren’t being serious if he plays next week.
Go do a preseason and show us what you got next year Bobby

After just 2 games in the seniors, he hasn’t showed much.

If we are at all caring about winning a game, I would prefer Spicer.

If we want to develop HJ, I don’t know if playing him in the seniors at this stage will help or hinder him.

Don’t care how inexperienced you are, that missed snap early in the second is unforgivable.

Under absolutely no pressure.

But defensively, Spicer doesn’t stop chasing. Watching the game at home , pretty much, if the ball is in forward half, Spicer will be in frame chasing. He doesn’t stop and while his tackle numbers in the 1s has been up and down, we don’t have anyone to provide this 1st and second layer of perceived pressure 100%.

While his stats aren’t flash hot (probably comparable to HJ) he is a lot more effective providing something in this role.

I will wait and see if you can name a player who literally chases 100% of the time he is on the field.

We drafted him as a small forward despite his highlight package showing nothing in regards to him playing small forward. His playing style is suited to the wing. He was miles off it both pace and fitness wise when he arrived for the vfl. He got better in the vfl but he was still nowhere near being influential at that level. We need to cross our fingers crossed that he his a competitive beast and will improve through sheer work ethic.

Body language says he's going to compete. He needs to build up and develop enough strength and fitness as possible for his light frame to make it, but gosh, I hope he does. It's completely understandable that as a mid-season recruit from the WAFL, he is not up to spec as an AFL player. He'd behind some of the North blokes for strength and fitness for goodness sakes.
