Recently bought LG C8 65" for $3995.
It's great, but 4k isn't as good as what I expected, it never looks as crisp as the images they have running when it's playing in the shop.
Also, there's a heap of setting adjustments and features possible but I don't know how to use any of them so not sure if I am getting my monies worth.

I am just watching everything on the default APS (Auto Power Save) mode.

What's the 4K source? You'll probably find the videos/images instore have very little or no compression to keep the quality up, but if you're streaming then even though it's a 4K picture, it's going to be compressed which will drop the quality. Grab a demo from https://4kmedia.org/ and see how it looks.

Personally I think 4K is largely overrated until you get into the 75"+ range, and comparing it to how it looks in the shops is pointless as you're usually standing within a metre of the screen when you're demoing it, instead of a regular viewing distance.

So far only Netflix specific 4k content, or Foxtel's IQ4 4k channel. For example the Big Bash Cricket on that 4k channel doesn't look a heap better than HD. Don't get me wrong it's a great picture, but I was expecting (hoping) absolute crystal.

Store demos are there to sell.

LG OLEDs are normally pretty good out of the box but RTings have a C8 calibration guide if you want to try. I have the C7 and only changed some minor things. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c8/settings

Largely depends on the source as mentioned. Personally I noticed when Netflix and Amazon video switches between 4K and 1080, but that’s just me. The biggest pro for going OLED though is the superior HDR. Dark scenes in HDR content are no longer crushed or washed

Great price, I think the cheapest I've seen is 900.. Use the 200 saved on a 4K player. If my buddy at JB can price match I'd be silly not to pull trigger! Cheers fellas 👍
