Try not to take this the wrong way guys, but a lot of the talk about Simpson was just after one guy talked him up and everyone else liked the idea because he is a big strong centre half forward. Just look at Juice, if he was a midfielder making his way through the grades we wouldn't care less about him, but because he is a tall forward who can take a high grab and kick some goals he is the new cult hero. What I'm saying is that I don't think we want Simpson because he is a superstar, but if we don't use at least one of the top 3 picks on talls at lot of people will be angry.

I would like the Dees to take a punt on Palmer at number 4.
Hopefully if all goes well it will look something like this.

Pick 4 - Palmer (or Mastern - i know a few people on this forum want him)
Pick 14 - Rance or Henderson
Pick 21 - Simpson

Can anyone think of anyone else that we might take instead of Rance or Henderson if they are not available? same with Simpson?

rance and henderson definately wont be there at 14. so probaly get gourdis or veszprimi. we shud get simpson tho.

Correct. I'm not one that subscribes tro the Simpson theory, but I just believe that KPP are our number 1 needs and we need a good one, preferably with our 1st or 2nd picks.

Then someone like Pears or Collier at 14. Just cant see Henderson slipping from the doggies at pick 5 and McEvoy should be selected from 8-12

We could probably put Morton in that as well, because if the tigers don't take him their are rumours that WC will pass on him.

Masten is the perfect in and under type but with pick 4 we might want more than that, Palmer has the pace to burn and good finishing skills but might also get burnt going the other way, Ebert seems to be a good standard midfielder, but hasn't played much senior SANFL and had a poor championship, Morton is a super fit, tall midfielder with great skills, but might not be able to get his own footy in tight.

Apart from the bit about Ebert having a poor championships. He played pretty much a lone hand in a very weak side. Was subsequently on the receiving end of some very close checking but was still better than servicable Myers hasn't been talked about much on this board. I would think he has good claims to a top 4 selection too.

I don't think that Myers is worth pick 4. For pick 4 we'd want some with a definate key position body (Rance or Henderson) and Myers seems to be a bit of a half-way utility.

And I've seen you've snagged Maric with 21, whilst he's not the type of player we really need he is absolute quality and I think you've made a good choice - just look at Shaun Higgins. I'd advise you to go for a tall defender with one of the last two picks. Then save the last spot on our list for the PSD.

I'm really into the draft this year and from what i'm hearing Rance could be a slider in the first round. You're right we would be mad not to pick him up. Also at 4, I'm really keen on either Morton or Myers. We have enough inside, tough runners (McLean, Jones, Sylvia) and could really use that touch of outside class now that TJ is gone, Morton is perfect. Myers can be both inside or outside and has fantastic leadership qualities. Very happy that we have Pick 4 this year! Go Dees.
