4th test Australia v India at the Gabba 1030 AEDT

Yep, just seems to be where our batting is at, limbo.
I'd be stoked with 450 at this point but 350 underwhelming but will take considering we could have done worse if a few more catches been taken. Both sides have dropped a lot of catches this series and either team could have had a lead in this series if they held more at crucial times.
Considering these are meant to be two of best sides in world, cricket Test standards our down in this era. Not sure if due to T20 cricket or just a cycle of an ordinary era and will improve again in a few years time. Hope it is the later.
100% due to T20 imo.

Just crash n bash stuff.

Wades shot type stuff.

I agree, the quality of fielding has really dropped off. I think I have noticed the Indians look more alive in the field the last few tours than they used to be. Not so much the catching but the stopping of runs.

From an Australian perspective as a collective group our standards were always really high. Everyone could field and we had three to four guns. If anything I think the quality of our fielding from our bowlers as a group is better than our collective group of batsman obviously doing different roles in the field.

It means ‘if they’d caught properly today they may have already secured the trophy.’

Very difficult to understand, I know, but true nonetheless
So if they were better at cricket they’d be on a better position, got it.

What insight. If Warner had made a ton Australia would have secured the trophy.

lol nah mate.

What are you, his older brother?

5-200 is a sh*t situation to be in on this wicket.

The day was even, saved by literally our last recognised batting combo.

He was wrong, and so are you.

It happens sometimes, don’t be upset

That's pathetic mate, you basically conceded when we are probably slightly infront.
An nah just scrolling through and noticed how stupid ya post looks in hindsight

Going to be hard for India now to get the job done. Im backing Mitchell Starc to get a few cheap wickets today as he often seems to grab a bunch after a lean trot

It was always going to be hard for India, considering the injuries and practically having to rollout a second XI bowling attack. A bowling lineup that has 4 test matches and 11 test wickets between them, were they really going in expecting to win? For the Aussie batsmen, it would be like facing a bowling attack in a warm up game, and still for a period of time we were on the ropes. If Labuschagne was caught by Rahane in slip, at 4-93 the Aussies would have been in serious trouble.
I think the Indian side will be relying on their batsmen to bat long, and with some rain around in Qld expected, to force the draw.

I think Green will kick on to make a big score, don't have quite as much faith in Paine. If Green/Paine/Cummins can blunt the new ball for 10 overs I can envisage Starc coming in and doing some damage in quicktime, this wicket suits him to a tee

Great post mate,

My post was made WHEN we were 4-200, and then we proceeded to lose another wicket against a green attack.

Then our wicketkeeper who hasn’t scored a test hundred, and our 4th gamer dug us out of a hole.

You’re posting after the fact and we’re only on an even pegging with the advantage of batting on a road first.

You’re the one that looks like a total nong.

The fact remains that Wade exposed our lineup with a s**t shot. Then our set bat went out.

I posted we were under pressure. We were. You want to refute that?

That’s fact. And it was *ed batting.

That’s really all there is to it

Come on keep scrolling through the comments you hero.

Paine has been our second best bat this series (shows how bad we’ve been)

I'm sure there is a big correlation between the rise of the sports scientists and the drop off in fielding standards. Would be interesting to ask the Mark Taylor, Mark Waugh etc generation how long they spent on the catching compared to the modern players.

Nah you had a full meltdown mate and you can't call it road until the other side bats on it.

You tend to go a bit early yourself though.

You did a victory lap during the middle of last test, and were a lot quieter on the last day?

Wouldn't call it a road, there were some nice swing even with the ball in the 70th over.

i like green and the tempo he plays at but gee people saying he looks a test player, how many did he play n miss yesterday ? gotta work on that walking block shot he plays. SA,poms, quicks would work him over

Look, you’re probably right.

The real crux of the post was Wade’s s**t shot to expose our lower order.

Then that was like the worst thing to point out ever

Ok WG Grace we all bow to your superior cricketing insight and let me be the first to invite you to take up a specialist position on the cricket forum vetting every single post before declaring whether it meets your relatively undefined criteria

Most was during the 2nd new ball which is expected when there's swing and he got bop down without scoring off 30 balls.
