Since Rafa beat Roger in the 2006 French their Head to Head is 5-2 in Rogers favour.

Since Rafa beat Roger in Dubai 2006 Roger leads 4-0 in non clay matches.

Rafa has tamely given up the final setsat Wimbledon and now at Shanghai.

Just how far into his head is Roger now or are thses figures simply more proof that head to head measn little or nothing?

your obessesion of rafa is quite amazing? i thought you would go into hiding after your ridiculous nole comment

However rafa never plays well in the 2nd half of the year, i am not worried about it.He will have a genuine crack at wimbledon this time and should win it.He was very lucky not to win it last year.

Pulling out selective stats like...since clay...since 2006..since blah blah....well clay is a major surface as well and i dont know why you are not willing to give credit for clay courts...doesnt matter if you dont like it, clay is still a major surface. Fact is that rafa is a better chance on grass courts than in indoor surfaces, the ball doesnt bounce at all which kills his topspin.Make sure you get ur excuses lined up next year when fed loses.

"non clay matches"

Pity clay is the no.1 most important surface for Roger at this point in his career.
But look at it in the reverse- surely hard and grass events should be the priority for Nadal now? Unless he can beat Federer in a Slam somewhere other than France there are always going to be those question marks hanging over him.

Nadal is burning out like Hewitt before him.

Federer is much more interesting a case because he will have a greater career than anybody, and most of us want to see him win the french.

All Hail All Hail.

TP the king of the selective stat getting angry.

I hav to agree with you. I think old TP is still suffering after that Grand Final fiasco. ( Naughty GT !!! ).

Fact is Rafa is 0 from 4 in his most recent non clay matches with Federer. I don't think he is burning out so much as finding his level. He is the top clay courter and a top 6 player on other surfaces. That is his level. The fact that hte Masters series is top heavy with clay events and has no grass events has helped him to number 2. These are simply demonstrable facts.

The Masters series has too many hardcourt events, not clay events. They should make one HC MS into a grass MS.

Don't disrespect the clay, it is the haven of Spanish and Argentinian players, a.k.a the top two tennis countries in the world. They can adjust to other surfaces much better than non-clay countries adjust to the red stuff.

I disagree with you here GL. Five are hard, three are clay and one (Paris) is carpet. Given two of the Slams are hardcourt, the five hard events are justified. If anything, one of the three clay events should be converted to grass, probably Hamburg. But because of the politics involved, it will never happen.

GF fiasco huh? better than chronic wooden spoon fiasco
funny, when fed loses, either he is not interested or has injuries.Fed will only decline from here, he is going to be 27 next year and history shows, champions (most of them) start their decline here.Be prepared to jump off the wagon soon and get on the Nole wagon

Top 6 huh?? when he was clearly the second best on grass courts and 3rd best on hardcourts this year???? he lost aussie open to a red hot gonzalez, who was unstoppable, other than that ,i am yet to recall a really bad grand slam lost.Your ridiculous nole prediction has taken out the credibility you had here, the fact that your one eyed hatred for rafa is stopping you from interpreting facts. Carry on, line up for excuses next time fed loses

You reckon other people are obsessed, when it's you that should seek medical attention. Geez you spew out a lot of drivel. Why don't you put some money on Fed losing every time he plays over the next few years? Come back and tell me how many thousands you end up losing

i said history proves it,which is true. With the only exception of Agassi not many people continued their streak after 27 maybe you can prove otherwise?

Of course he will decline TP. One day Tiger Woods will no longer be golf Number one. The day came when Michael Jordan declined, when Michael Schumacher retired and the day will come when Federer is no longer tennis number one but in the meantime he is rewriting the record books of the sport and wht else can anyone do? Look at his record in the 5 big tournaments this year. 29 from 30 in KO matches at the slams and the Masters Cup. 29 from 30 when it really really mattered and big prizes and lots of points were up for grabs. His only defeat in rafa's living room at RG.

He wions when it matters TP and a 97% strike rate in the big games this year proves it......and that in a bad year!

yes but his body will break down sooner or later, usually its a case study that 27 and above is the period when body starts to break down.
Why? There is no reason to suggest that. Federer has one of the most fluent games in the history of tennis, if not the most fluent, I cant imagine any part of his game placing too much stress on any part of his body.

And given how easily Federer cruises through Slams, nor does he play a huge amount of doubles, I cant imagine any reason through injury or workload why he couldnt play at the same level into his 30's. The quesiton isnt his body, its his mind.

If and when Fed falls by the wayside, that happening does not equate with Nadal assuming the mantle.

Look at Peter Costello after little Johnny left the Lodge. Who woulda thunk it eh?
