We all know how good a player he is, when he is on the park he is as good as anyone with decision making and skipl execution, he has great awareness and reads the play well, he often finds himself in a lot of space... HOWEVER he has played about 64 games out of 150, really? He would want to play a full year and get himself fit or he’ll find himself without a job

Oh yes, the club is just swimming with guys who can think, execute and find space while chewing gum.
Compare Ben to Robbie Tarrant, who to 2014 had played 39 games including only 1 in 2014 out of a possible 115.
Robbie has played more than 20 games a season since.
Ben is 27 and could easily play another 5 years and add 100 games to his tally.
Any way you slice it, Ben is worth the perseverance.

If he doesn't play a significant role next year we might have to let him go. He could play another 5 years but if they're like the last 4 seasons then it won't be much use to us. Still he worked with Kyron Hayden on his tagging didn't he? (Not 100% sure - Waussie might know.) So even if he doesn't play anymore his smarts and preperation (studying players etc) have always been lauded so he could probably find a spot in the coaching ranks.

Yeh, you are comparing apples with oranges.. Taz’ injuries healed .. Jacobs current health state may get worse or may not, one knock could end his career or he may be okay, if this sinusitis or whatever it is persists, then he should be delisted, rookied (maybe) and helped by the club to get right and/or engage him in development roles moving forward.. he’s a smart footballer, one i’d like to see at the club in some capacity whether playing or not

This is second hand, but yes he spent several weeks teaching Technic, going through footage ect. to help Kyron. We watched his game and Kyron looked good out there up against Pendles so I expect a fair bit of that would come from BJ and the knowledge he imparted. Tagging can be a thankless tough gig and BJ is good at it.

I've mentioned a few times here before the I've been through similar to Ben. It's not apples to apples but I think this works in Ben's favour. Once he gets this right he will be right, and the turn around - if one occurs - is more likely to be rapid and significant, as opposed to more traditional injuries which are a gradual recovery (physically and mentally) with the 'one wrong move' lingering in the back of the mind.

I'm not quite sure of the implication there mate. Would you mind elaborating?
 
Sinusitus was referred to which can be chronic in some cases. It was also complicated by some neck problems i think? They havent been too specific. I know someone at work whom as seasonal flareups but i have often thought she might be taking the piss with all the leave she takes. So... might not be a true or acurate example of someone sufferring this condition. I wouldnt have thought Sinusitus would necessarily have a typical cause and consequently the impacts and recovery would likely also be atypical across sufferers.

Just thinkin out loud.

So often with these things a change in scenery or circumstances accompanies an improvement in the condition.

I have suffered from sinusitis on and off over the years and its debilitating from a pain persepective. Some days it was hard to lift my head off the pillow. The pressure in my head when it was at is worst is undescribable. Having said that, haven't suffered it for the length of time Ben has if that is truly the issue. Wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

I would be surprised if it was something as simple as sinusitis, as debilitating as it is, it wouldn't take two years and a small army of specialists to figure out he has sinus issues.

I agree but Dunderhead stated he thought the lady was taking the piss, I was merely stating its a very painful condition. As they haven't exactly stated what his issue is, I am unqualifed to comment on more than my experience.

Cool. But when you introduce comorbidities - the collision injury, concussion, cervical problems... mental health? Its not simple even for a specialist to drum down. Also, we dont know when the sinusitus was diagnosed, we only have an article referring to it more recently - quite a few months ago from memory.
