Out: Cotchin (managed)

Nah, the captain plays and not sure which way the wind is blowing, wins the toss and elects to kick towards the wing.

The following week:

Out: Cotchin (MIA) indefinite

Saturday, 3rd of June, 2017 will then be known from then on in as C-day. When North stewards find a used jockstrap in the rooms post-match with the name "Trent C" sewn in the lining by his mum, a eulogy is taken out in the HUN.

"In affectionate remembrance of the Richmond Football Club which died at Etihad Stadium on the 3rd of June, 2017. Deeply lamented by a large circle of diehards and delusionals. RIP. The captain's jockstrap will be cremated and the ashes returned to Punt Road."

This will be the birth of our annual blockbuster against the Tiggers. Richmond fans will hold a midnight vigil with 9 candles every 2nd of June lamenting "Where's Trent."

Has this turned into a full blown circle jerk? Sounds like Ben is the second coming of Christ on the back of one VFL game.....

Everyone quotes the stats about Waite in or out of the side and w/l ratios but Jacobs has a very similar stat.

We lost him a bit over a year ago. Last year we had won every game he played in. Once he was out we won 4 of 15 games usually with opposition midfielders having good games against us. This season we have won 2 games of 8, so since he was injured we've won 6 games out of 23.

Also how much of the year of footy he missed was due to the uncalled trip during a prelim in WA? Did the AFL fail in its duty of care by not paying that free even tho the umpire was staring straight at it and made a conscious decision not to blow the whistle?

In the 23/24 games before his injury we lost 5 and won the rest. The last game he was dropped for was the one in 2015 against Collingwood.

That might be why people are keen to see him back in the side.

He'd moved beyond the development hump and had begun to be comfortable at the level.

If he can get back to a point of stopping the opposition and winning it when its there to be won, he's an automatic selection.

Don't know if they are 'special' or not, but left-footers just look classier when they have the ball....Jacobs just hit the spot so often yesterday he made foot passing look easy.....not something you say for others in the NM team.

I must admit, I didn't get to see much of the 2016 season, but when he was playing, did he bring that dash and run to his game? Or is this a newer development?

A mammoth 43 disposals for Benny.
This, and the large number of handballs (28?) had me, for some reason, thinking of Jacobs relieving Jack to play more of a utility role, or more back of the square with more time. That is, BJ creates a more 'second phase' clearance situation. Makes it harder for the likes of Clarke and Mountford.
