I thought he showed more in that quarter than majority of what he had showed in his time at North.

Impressed. Hope he gets a chance next week, do we take the extra contested mid for Sydney or do we hope to beat them on the run? Ziebell will be back, but I'd love for Jacobs to get another shot.

There can be only one...
I'd rather have Polec (of the gohomers) but was pleased with Jacobs, it can't be easy to sit on the pine for 3 quarters and then come out and have an impact.

I think JZ will be back next week, perhaps if Horse doesn't pull up well he can push for a permanent gig.

Jacobs decision making was a factor. He gave the release to the correct player at the correct moment.
Composure when there wasnt alot of it when needed.

It was a fist pump moment, I admit I went nuts when that Jacobs goal went through

I was just laughing through the goal and wondering if BF Port board matchday thread would go into meltdown.

On a side note, how well have our subs played this year?

Patch in round 1 was everywhere.
Levi in round 2 gave us exactly what we needed in the last.
Jacobs today came on and gave us a bit of extra grunt in the middle.

I know we have already had a "i called this" posted in this thread but.......

I've said this for a while, a solid bodied inside mid with reasonable pace is a much better sub than an outside flair player.

JMac, BMac, Nahas, Wright type cant turn a game where it counts like a fresh inside mid can. A fresh body willing to hit contests hard against tired battered bodies will win ball and turn games.

Lets hope the trend continues :)

I must say I've never thought about it until this year and I was surprised when Greenwood was sub last week but I really like this tactic. As you say, the freshness of the sub can make a real difference in the contest when the other inside players are stuffed
