Not a great start, but Black was in a similar position last year and circumstances gave him just the opportunity he needed. Delaney just needs a steady run on the injury front. He should dominate the VFL.
We have our three talls and he's of a similar size to Thompson. Whose spot does he take when everyone is fit?

Delaney is agile enough to play on smalls. Geelong in their prime had:

Taylor, Harley, Longeran and Mackie in their back half.

We could ultimately have:
Thompson, Hansen, Grima/Tippet and Delaney back there.

The good thing about delaney is that he is very strong in their air but he also can provide a bit of dash from half back. At his height is a perfect half back option who would give us huge flexibility and even free up Hansen more

Okay, I'm sold. Best of luck to him.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Actually couldn't have even put the case half as clearly as that.

Ironically, he would have been an ideal replacement for JMac this week if he was right to play. I do like the look of our defensive talls, with the back up of Delaney and Tippett looking stronger than our tall forward depth. Tippett can fill in for Narni or Scooter if required. And Delaney can fill for Lachie, Scooter, or as a medium defender as you describe rf.

Lol, one goal does not make a career, absolutely pulled it out of his a***, still predict he will be delisted at years end, i'd put money on it.
Actually, he kicked from pretty much the same spot he kicked a nice long one in the NAB Cup last year (yes, I can hear your pathetic mewling about it only being the NAB Cup already). It is a weapon of his, the long kick, especially for goal.

I strongly doubt he'll be deslisted at year's end. As the ongoing injuries to JZ and Swallow show, you need to have very deep midfield cover these days and while Jacobs isn't best 22 at this stage, his ability to come in a play a role has been proven vital.

Look who the cat dragged in.
I found it funny that we haven't had a peep out of you after such a good win.
Not a peep.

Every North supporter was stoked with the win. Still nothing from you.
Then you show up on Thursday having crack at Jacobs.
Do us all a favor and piss off back to the boring board of whatever pitiful excuse of a club you barrick for.
Umm no. I've been super busy and I posted something under the 'Bye Bye Brad' thread if you care to look:rolleyes:

Moving is a piss weak excuse. Especially the age of smart phones.

I'm starting to think you're one of those Port flogs
Hardly a relevant point. I dont own a so-called smart phone or laptop and I only look in here on my desktop computer, which was in in a moving box, lol....AND my life does not revolve around Big Footy unlike some:rolleyes:....at least I got to the game, did you!?!?!?!?!?!!?

No seriously. Put your money where your loud, derisive mouth is... How much money are you willing to put on it?

I'd put my money on the fact that you're quick to mouth off and criticize but not willing to stand behind the incessant bollocks you spout.

Obviously you didnt attend the game, lol, a pathetic attempt at deflection:rolleyes:...........stop the bollocks and focus on something positive like our great win over the Swannies, which is a rare thing! Great effort by the boys, the Tudor factor really starting to take hold:thumbsu:

In the spirit of the Aaron Black Airbus & other random conveyances, I bring you.....the Ben Jacobs Dodgem Car.

I see potential in the lad so I'll take the drivers seat (possibly by default) & welcome you all along for the ride. There's room for one adult or two children in the passengers seat along with as many as can hang on to the pole along the back & sides, with the possibility of getting burnt if reaching too high.

Those scared &/or short sighted can live a bruise free life & watch from behind the safety barriers.

Be prepared to fly in any direction at any time, even backwards if the car gets in too much traffic or loses control which could happen, again........ at any time. Those strong of conviction, willing to commit & ride the bumps along with wearing the occasional belting will be in for the ride of their life.

Beep Beep!!!

You're suggesting I trade in the Jalopy for a dodgem car? Seriously?

(Where do I sign?)
