and what if he isn't? No denying we lack leadership anyway, last year was a prime example even if Jacobs said it or not.
I think it is a bit simple to draw conclusions from a comment that is not related to the context of the comments. There is nothing meaningful to be gained from it.

The premise of this thread is a Herald Sunesque leap of logic from what should be a positive article about a young player to a where are Norf's leaders at opinion piece.

people draw different opinions though just bc you do not agree with it, doesn't make it right or wrong. In my opinion our leadership has been average for a long period now and a comment like that justifies my opinion.

Sorry to nip this in the bud, but in no way did Ben even insinuate that with his quote.

It was part of a larger discussion about both of them switching clubs and whether they had any similarities, talked about it, etc. Some of those quotes didn't fit into the flow of the piece but those two did.
I'm confused, so you edited a quote talking about similarities between Jacobs and NDS switching clubs etc into that article that does not mention anything about it?

Not at all. I was providing context to a quote that had been blown out of proportion:

- The quotes that were included were part of a larger conversation about Dal
- The whole conversation was about whether they had had any chats about switching clubs
- 100odd words that essentially boils down to 'no, we didn't' doesn't make for good reading so it wasn't included
- This is normal, every quote you get from an interview isn't always used
- The last two quotes talking about how he is on the field were worthy to include

I'd have to have a few screws loose to twist a player's words.

great point. Hopefully the younger guys can have more confidents in there ability and take it on themselves.
When the senior players are firing, Petrie, Harvey, Thomas, Wells, Thompson everyone else seems to show glimpses of there ability for 1-3 quarters and the affect it has on the game and final margin. But if they're having horrendous games such as Collingwood, GC and Essendon it's already evident the younger guys in Black, Bastinac, Atley , Mullet stoop to the same level of performance. I hope they get rid of this damaging virus soon.

Nice article Rick.

Pity its being looked at like a Nostradamus quatrain.
I blame the bye. Not enough to keep us occupied this week.

Why would a bloke who's pushing hard for senior selection knock the club's leaders via an article on the club's website?

Rick, the only possible solution is to bug Ben's house/phone/car and wait until he reveals his true feelings about our leaders. NOTW would do it.

NORTH! 2016,2017,2018.
General question: If NDS went to Essendon for example would he have been in the leadership group in his first year?
Performance enhancing drugs!

...sorry all the jokes were taken.

Hold up...

Maybe *essendon's leadership group isn't all its CRACKed up to be!

Dal would have been welcomed in with open arms. It really is a JOINT venture down at *windy hill

Weird OP to me......followed by a fair few other strange posts.
I didn't get the Dal ref to read at all like we lack leaders. What I liked though was "great mate Luke McDonald", just because it had LMac in there. Jacobs will be proper for us, just you wait and see.

IMO, Dal has probably shown the most leadership of everyone this year.

Jacobs was at port when they were a rabble. Hardly got a kick with us last year.

Why wouldnt he think he's the best leader he's played with. He probably is.

No biggie. We know our club lacks on field leadership. Don't bury our heads in the sand here people.
