If were allowing one winger to push forward whilst the ball is transitioning into our back 50 then were in troubleActually that is not how it always works. Often you have a defensive winger and an attacking winger. One works back. The other pushes forward.
Think outside the box a bit. Or even better get to a few live non Essendon AFL games and watch the running patterns of the wingers. If were allowing one winger to push forward whilst the ball is transitioning into our back 50 then were in trouble
Gee I really hope not - am a bit higher please, there's a few other #5's far more worthy...Getting those Bent Stanton vibes?
Stants would be a gun in this day and age. non-stop wing running for 4 quarters.Gee I really hope not - am a bit higher please, there's a few other #5's far more worthy...

Only 255 more AFL games than the experts on here.Stants would be a gun in this day and age. non-stop wing running for 4 quarters.
never got the angst directed at him

The wingers still defend. One runs half back to forward pocket. The other runs back pocket to half forward.
They keep their width for sure. You just do not run both defensively all the time. There are always holes in system. That is why having a good team zone defense is important. It is the same as you have a gap somewhere when you play 7 behind the footy or an extra at the contest or a high half forward. So they don't keep their width? If they both kept their width and one ran more defensive than the other wouldn't that leave one side of the defensive 50 less covered?
Geelong, forward pocket, cleaning Nat Fyfe’s poolWhere will Parish, Zerrett, Langford be?
Exactly. It seems people forget that things can be taught. If they want to learn that is and Tsatas wants to learn. The 187cm Tsatas is also aware of the room for improvement in his game as he prepares to join the team for their pre-Christmas training block.
“I think (I can improve) in the contest, the defensive side of my game,” Tsatas said.
“If I can nail that with my tackling and my defensive pressure, I’ll be a much more rounded player. That’ll benefit my game as a whole.”
At least the lad knows where he needs to put in the work.
It’s pretty basic footy structure I thought.Think outside the box a bit. Or even better get to a few live non Essendon AFL games and watch the running patterns of the wingers.

DelistI was actually down there today watching. Watched him get dumped in a tackle right at the end he and was pretty slow to get up!
Funnily enough, exactly what eDPS has been saying all year. Also, the word on Philipou is that he told the clubs he interviewed at that he “would make them pay if the did not select him”. He was seen as more of a marking forward type player who can push into the midfield.
I had my suspicions. Yet to see them in the same room myself. You know he is really Callum Twomey don’t you?
Absolutely!!!Gee I really hope not - am a bit higher please, there's a few other #5's far more worthy...
Unless you play under Klopp.Common tactic in soccer too. Often teams play with one full back who has a license to bomb forward while one tends to be more conservative.
