If the entire rest of the midfield weren’t passengers incapable of winning a clearance, he’d probably have less pressure on his disposal. I’d be pointing the finger at every single one of those weak campaigners in there prior to Tsatas.

I'd rather see him trying to torp it 50m every time he gets the ball than ever try to hit up a 25m short kick.

But he sure knows how to find the ball. 14 contested, 11 clearances. Did better than a lot of senior players.

I'm staggered that someone can be playing football there whole lives yet somehow not be able to always direct the ball onto the foot.

It's great that he's working hard on his game but after three pre-seasons in the system he still has a very u/18s approach to the game.

Found a bit of it, but thought he was nowhere near as clean at ground level as he is supposed to be, and the moment where he ran into Durham (I think?) was one of the more bizarre efforts I can remember.

Neither player is a good kick, but Tsatas at least has elite hands. Hobbs has the spatial awareness of a blind person. The only thing he'd add to the midfield over Tsatas is physicality, but not enough to make the move worth it.

Showed some burst today which I’ve never seen from him before…which was positive.

Was very clean at times, fumbly at others. Kicking, physicality, defensive intent and running ability remain areas of concern.

Playing him and Hobbs in midfield instead of Setterfield and Shiel will cause a lot of short term pain but we need to find out quickly if we think these guys can become real AFL mids.

Well, that could that have been Phillipou but we went Tsatas.

I'm fine to admit some spuds I wanted us to pick in the past (Melksham, Laverde, Shane Harvey) but I wanted Phillipou over Tsatas.
