Well, that could that have been Phillipou but we went Tsatas.

I'm fine to admit some spuds I wanted us to pick in the past (Melksham, Laverde, Shane Harvey) but I wanted Phillipou over Tsatas.
I wanted Humphry.

If Tsatas can tidy up his kicking he'll be a good player, guys who can win the ball like he does are worth having

Yes, he would have been a good addition, he or Mattheus would have been the right decision for what we needed.

Well, if Tsatas hasn't sorted out his kicking up until now, I don't have any reason to think he will. Great if he does, but this seems as likely as McGrath getting dropped next week.

The one from that draft you look at with hindsight and wonder “how did we miss this guy” is Josh Weddle.

A mystery how a guy with his physical tools slipped to pick 18.

I think with Weddle it was that he started outside the conversation as a bit of a tweener defender at the start of his top age year and progressed up the board. He was a real competitor that was good at a few sports and had athletic ability. He is the poster boy for ticking the competitor box as one of the first couple ticked off.

What I missed (and don’t think I was alone) was his running ability. Watched every Vic Metro champs game that year and he didn’t catch my eye at all. Whereas you watch Hawthorn today and his running power is so eye catching. And it comes in a genuinely big AFL body.

Not sure if he physically developed late in his draft year but the guy is an absolute specimen - right at the pointy end of the spectrum for elite physical traits.

We lack this type of player, the more competitive types we get in the quicker we will progress.

The softest, uncompetitive list by a mile is what we have.. get some blokes in that hate to lose and give a F#$k would be a start.

the year is likely not going to go anywhere so why not give hobbs. tsatas and the other young players chances to at least see what we got? theyve never gotten a proper run at it in their primary positions. Then at least, by the end of the year you know what youve got and get restructure the list accordingly. These younger players have always just been around the squad and no one really knows if theyve got what it takes

Liked a few of the burst clearances in the second half. The whole team was a bit of a train wreck so it would be a bit harsh to jump on him for a few bits he got wrong.

Busted hand, too many clearances

You’d think there would be celebrations in the streets given the shit that is constantly spoken about him

Broken finger
Fox reporting that he broke a finger in warmups. Explains the time on ground being so low, and also makes the clearance numbers in that time even more impressive.

Tsatas has a long way to go with kicking efficiency and physicality, but I can't question his toughness.

I don't mind the kid, with the right players around him (hopefully a bigger body) to support him - his clearance work and hands in close are outstanding.
Yes, he has his deficiencies not overly physical, and field kicking is questionable, but as I mentioned with the right players around him I think can add value. Too early to write him off yet. Sucks about the hand injury

Difference is we have already seen this fella has a hunger to improve give him time its going to come

Not really as last week was the same.
