We are weak as piss around the ball. The fact we have an 18 year old kid as our best option is pretty ordinary.

Little bit of an over reaction. Dusty wasn't shocking against Carlton, obviously underdone after cruising through JLT, and he was tagged hard (often illegally but don't get me started on taggers) against Collingwood by Greenwood, and when resting forward, Langdon was big enough and good enough to hold him. No shame there either. You can't drop a player for those reasons.Big statement needed from the club to set the tone for the rest of the season. I would love it if we dropped Dusty and said he is being "Managed" but internally say that no matter who you are, if you do not live up to our standards you will be replaced with someone who does.
That maybe true and I would not drop him BUT a message must be sent that no matter who you are in the team, no tackles is unacceptable. His defensive attempts are simply non-existent.Little bit of an over reaction. That is true, but to put it in perspective a bit. Cotchin had 1 tackle, as did Lambert, Castagna, Rioli, Vlaustin, Ellis, Markov, Broad, Higgins & Lynch. Edward, Weller, Asbury 0. So he was not on his own in that regard. It was more his lack of chase and closing down space, but he has never been good at that. That maybe true and I would not drop him BUT a message must be sent that no matter who you are in the team, no tackles is unacceptable. I think for me it is more about the optics of the player. It doesn't look like he is trying too hard and that is a problem. It is more about a work ethic type thing.Little bit of an over reaction. Are we though? 37-41 v Carlton, 28-31 v Collingwood. So, for quantity, no. Quality of clearance, maybe. Much of that can be put down to our shortarse ruckman rarely winning a hitout to advantage. Imagine Dusty and Cotch roving to Gawn or Grundy. We'd never lose.We are getting owned badly for clearances.
Shortarse ruckman is definitely a big problem for us.Are we though? 37-41 v Carlton, 28-31 v Collingwood. So, for quantity, no. Quality of clearance, maybe. Anyway, I agree we need more mid depth. I like Ross. Bring him in.
I heard a post-match suggestion that we should never play Nankervis against Grundy again. If he's going to get smashed in general play we might as well put Soldo in there and win the hitouts.Shortarse ruckman is definitely a big problem for us.
It's not a crazy idea that we start playing Soldo and Nank.I heard a post-match suggestion that we should never play Nankervis against Grundy again. If he's going to get smashed in general play we might as well put Soldo in there and win the hitouts.
Charge Dusty 10k per session.maybe he can teach dusty how to tackle
Not both. Just not Nank. Balta a monty to come in, surely. It's not a crazy idea that we start playing Soldo and Nank.
Anyway, at least this week hopefully they select Balta.
You don't think Dusty deserves a bigger rocket?Honestly I'd drop Prestia for Ross. He needs a serious rocket.

0 Tackles is a disgrace. No excuse really.Little bit of an over reaction. Ya know I luv the guy to bits in Nank.Top 3 in our most important. However I'm hoping this time next year CCJ will become our #1 and Nank becomes our CHF/Ruck.Imagine the likes of pea heart Gone & Grundy facing a fresher Nank in the 2nd half of matches. Are we though? 37-41 v Carlton, 28-31 v Collingwood. 6 players in the entire 22 had more than 1 tackle. So the lot of them were a disgrace by that measure. We chased arse all game, and Grundy fed the ball down their throats so we chased some more. But yeah, 0 or 1 tackles in a game of footy is very poor.0 Tackles is a disgrace. No excuse really.
He certainly looks like he has lost a bit of interest. Supposedly had a cracking preseason, so maybe it is just a slow start. We'll hang him after Saturday's game if he does the same.I think for me it is more about the optics of the player. It doesn't look like he is trying too hard and that is a problem. It is more about a work ethic type thing.
I mean you look at Danger and he rarely looks like he isn't trying his best. I don't think I want Dusty to be another Franklin type player. What I mean by that is a player who just gets through on talent alone but never appears to want to work hard. These players are the types of players that you alway need to cover because you never know when they want to decide to pull their finger out.
