Yep, I'm just not sure what role he actually has.

If he was a straight out accumulator, I'd get it. But he isn't.

If he was a hard nut clearance bloke, I'd get it. But he isn't.

If he was a lightning fast line breaker, I'd get it. But he isn't.

If he played tall and had great dukes in a contest, I'd get it. But he isn't.

If he bobbed up with 2 or 3 goals every other week and demanded a good defender, I'd get it. But he isn't.

He's just there. He doesn't get it much, and then he's untrustworthy when he does get it. He hasn't improved in the last five years, and his first game ever in 2019 was almost his best game ever.

Today, I honestly didn't even know he was out there until I spotted him running off the bench early in the third quarter. I thought he must've just got subbed in.

If we somehow got a 3rd round pick for him, I'd be equal parts surprised and thrilled.
I’d take a 3r , but don’t like our chances.
Clubs can find his type running around in state leagues they don’t need to trade for them.

That's the thing looked like the bull we needed in there but another got an injury can't remember what it was and has never been the same.

Finally we’re tagging. Ross and can tag and attack as well. Had 25 touches. Dow can do tagging when he’s back
If Ross is doing it really well, why would we change to Dow?

I dont think Dow plays if we're full strength, we still have to fit Macaullife and Lalor in too. And then you'd expect Clarke and Smillie in the side as well.

Why would you give the tagging job to Dow? Dow will struggle to get back in the team.

Daniel Jackson Ross

Not many blokes are capable of shutting down an opponent while still having a considerable impact offensively themselves.

Definitely a role worth persisting with. Send him to Daicos next week for a real test.
Did not see this role coming, its making him such a better player. The better players take him to the footy and he is beating them, then also picks his times to go when we have it to perfection and hurt them the other way.

He did not really tag in the traditional sense. Most taggers stand next to or behind then scrag when their opponent gets the ball. Ross, like Daniel Jackson used to do (good pick up RaIII), tended to get in front of Reid and block his run to the ball, hence he was first to the ball and hence he got it.

Ross has always had natural midfield tendencies, but due to Taranto, Hopper and Prestia to a lesser extent, being quite similar inside mids, he couldn't play his natural game. Now that he was back inside, by virtue of being further inside than his opponent he was able to get more involved and get his hands on the ball first.

Daicos because of his pace and being a bit of a receiver, might be a different proposition.
