Seems like these guys are forver playing each other. And because they play on the sub-continent they are generally high scoring - probably inflating a few batting averages, particularly with the Indian hacks.

Its getting ridiculous!

Could be the most overdone series of matches in cricket history. Seems every time I hit up cricinfo, they have just finished an ODI against each other, and Virat Kohli has usually made another hundred. :p

India always plays 100's of matches against Pakistan and SL - they love it over there.

I'd love to know the comparison of how often these two play each other compared to, say, West Indies and New Zealand.
Arbitrary start date chosen was 01/08/2007 (just over 5 years)

India v Sri Lanka
Tests: 9
ODIs: 45
T20Is: 5

New Zealand v West Indies
Tests: 4
ODIs: 10
T20Is: 4

India v Pakistan
Tests: 3 (none since Dec 2007)
ODIs: 13
T20Is: 2 (both in South Africa in Sep 2007)

edit: courtest of Cricnfo's statsguru

Well put it this way- WI and NZ have both been playing Test matches since 1930ish. In that time they have played only 39 Tests against each other, and have played in the West Indies, in particular, very rarely.

Only five WI v NZ series in the WI ever: 1972, 1985, 1996, 2002 and 2012.

45 ODI's between the Lankan's and Indians - absolutely ridiculous. They should label them as practice matches.

India and Pakistan have played 59 tests against each other, and only 21 have ended in positive results. Neither side wanted to lose, so risk-free, 0-0 drawn five Test rubbers has been the norm between them.

Yeah and the pitches being highways...

Except I do remember Ifran Pathan getting a hat trick in the first over of a test about 6 years ago.
