Injured Hayward is in the top 5 swans of all time

That umpiring was being led by the St Kildas fans complaining about everything. I've never heard a more uninformed supporter base. They cried for everything but it did work for them with the umpires. Commenting was also miserable. I think at one point one of the commentators said the St Kilda fans were trying to lift their team. All I could hear was the Sydney chant. Figure that. Also is Gerard Healy trying so hard to be neutral he argues our few doubtful free kicks and labours so much on them even Jack Reidwolt was debating against him and for us. Really liked that win ! Buller so good and Hayward and others

Gutsy win in the end despite the umpiring.

Great play from Grundy, Hayward, Rowbottom and Jordon and a few others.

Sloppy stuff from Francis, Blakey and McInerney nearly cost us the game.

Buller proving a very good replacement for Amartey is a bonus.

  • Ok first qtr, diabolical 2nd qtr, so-so disappointing 3rd qtr.....to their credit hang tough and played well in the last to steal one maybe we didn't deserve. Had to battle the umps late too, wtf was that from them.
  • Looked better when McCartin went off, not a slight on him and hope he's ok, but picked too tall of a defence to start with and looked better when we got run out of it.
  • The defence is it's own worst enemy at times. That enigma group does your head in.
  • Hayward is one player that I might move out of that enigma group, he at least always gives consistent effort and tries (don't get the lazy moments from him) even if he can be erratic at times. Huge today. Plays better hurt for god knows what reason.
  • Grundy was enormous late, was putting in a so-so one then turned the game with huge moments, the hitout obviously but there was a moment when McInerney and Bice let a ball get too easily past them and 2 saints were about to surge but Grundy came in and he didn't let the ball past. Such a simple thing but too many let the ball pass them by reaching, those that don't stand out.
  • Until the last qtr surge, some nice things from Sheldrick and Buller (along with Hayward) would've probably been the only positives you could've taken from the first 3 qtrs. Thought Buller actually had a few really important moments late. Don't know why they were so scared to give give a go early in the year when we desperately needed a KF and were playing VFL defenders as KF's. Albeit still need to see a few more games but pushing ahead in the list convo discussion of who to retain of all our uncontracted talls imo.

Again some shocking tackling and made life hard for ourselves with over ambitious kicks and handballs. But good perseverance to stay in it in the second quarter.
Grundy again very strong and the tap to Gulden was sublime in the last quarter. Buller looks hungry and should be the default back up forward looks much better than Francis. Hayward looks back in form. A lot of cameos apart from that but a lot of players flitted in and out of the game.
Presume that McCartin will be out next week (and possibly longer considering how cautious we are with him) Snell might get a game next week.
Umpires were really poor , if in doubt they blew the whistle instead of letting it go and pulled some really bad ones out of nothing.

Are you actually serious? They had about 5 people there (I understand its more, but I feel there were more Swans fans) and you're worried about the impact of that? No wonder this team gets smashed in GFs.

blakey jmac mills heck even gulden etc were largely baffling poor

roberts and blakey look awful but in the last everyone fought at least

i am baffled live how it's a lot of bomb and hope for an individual to do something great
