1 Carlton finish 18th
2 Crows win the flag
3 AFL grant Carlton the first pick as a PP

Absolutely ******* absurd how believable that is if numbers 1 and 2 become reality.

1. The Mid Season Draft doesn't produce any players that play consistently through the year
2. Jye Caldwell defies the odds to win Rising Star
3. One of Josh Kelly and Stephen Coniglio doesn't sign on
4. SPS has a breakout year at Carlton, finishing top 5 in their B&F
5. Player with 2 years left to run on his contract decides to get traded

1. GWS makes the grand final (but loses to Essendon) with Jimmy Bartel's addition to the board of directors identified as a major reason for their success.

2. Stephen Hill to retire towards the end of the season due to injury.

3. Nick Blakey wins the Rising Star.

4. No team is able to stop Riewoldt and/or T. J Lynch from kicking 3 goals in any game all year.

5. Will Hayward and Oliver Florent pick up the slack left by Sydney's declining/departed midfielders, but the Swans' Buddy-centricity causes them to miss finals.

1. An AFL Official is fired for sexual assault / harassment
2. Howe MOTY but doesn't land correctly incurring a 2-4 week injury
3. Daniher manages 10 games or less with no end in sight of OP issues
4. Dan Butler scores a goal from a drop kick
5. It will rain heavily on Grand Final day

- Port Adelaide to fall into the bottom four

- Brisbane to scrape into the 8 and win a final

- Essendons potential to outweigh its performance yet again and Woosha to come under intense scrutiny

- Forward lines to isolate Rance one on one close to goal wherever possible, will have a s**t ton of goals kicked on him, generating discussions about whether he’s as good as people say he is

- Melbourne to be there abouts for the majority of the year without dominating, but come good at the right time of the year and salute emphatically on Grand Final day

1) Tom Lynch is a resounding success at Richmond finishing top 5 in the Coleman but his presence diminishes the impact of others around him (Riewoldt and Caddy in particular) making the forwardline worse overall.

2) The AFL make up more problems that don’t exist and enforce new rules that everybody hates.

3) Izak Rankine to become first player since Tom Boyd to request a trade after one year in the system. Crows give slight overs to satisfy the Suns in a trade.

4) Josh Kelly to leave GWS for Victoria but Coniglio to stay

5) Brisbane to still finish bottom 6 despite everyone overhyping them preseason

1. James Hird goes on celebrity get me out of here and tells his side of the story.
2. AFL X is a success.
3. AFL crackdown on supporters bringing their on food into the stadiums. A bottle of 600ml coke rises to $6 at all venues. 15% increase on all foods since the crackdown.
4. 3 coaches get the sack. Brad Scott, Ross Lyon, Ken Hinkley and Clarkson retires handing the reigns to Sam Mitchell
5. Collingwood banner falls apart again in rnd 1 which leads Eddie to demand a full enquiring it construction. They hire a professional architect to reconstruct the design. Their banners become a work of art from then on.

1) My thoughts exactly

2) Basically guaranteed

3) For the sake of the Gold Coast, I really hope not. If it does happen, I hope it's a price similar to what the Dogs paid for Boyd (their own ******* captain who was one of their best players, plus Pick 6). Seems like the Carlton pick Adelaide receive, plus a decent player, would have to be the price.

4) Kelly does seem far more likely to leave, and has been strongly linked with multiple Vic clubs. Coniglio I think stays unless the GWS salary cap is still a problem once they re-sign more players

5) I already think this happens. Out of the bottom 6 (Dogs, Freo, Saints, Lions, Suns and Carlton) Brisbane were the oldest and most experienced team, yet finished behind both Freo and the Dogs by multiple games, despite those two being the youngest and least experienced sides in the AFL in terms of who they fielded in 2018. They've lost Beams and gained Neale, which is pretty close to breaking even. Gained Marcus Adams, but he averages around 7-8 games a season due to constant injuries. I think there's a lot of positives about Brisbane's list, but these people saying they are looking at finals for 2019 are getting way ahead of themselves. I think bottom 6 is their likely spot this year, with finals looking more likely in 2021

Tim Kelly requested one last year.

1.) A team people expected to be top 4 will bomb. (Tigers? Eagles? Demons?)
2.) A team everybody wrote off will make the top 4. (Saints? Dogs?)
3.) A major star will get a season ending injury in the first 3 weeks of the season.
4.) A team no one expects will win the flag (Crows? Swans?)
5.) Mitchell will win back to back brownlows and piss off BF.

1. Adelaide, Richmond or WC to win the flag
2. Melbourne to underwhelm and finish 7th
3. 3 coaches sacked - Richardson, Hinkley & Bolton
4. Deledio will retire mid season as will Roughead
5. Geelong makes top 4 but out in straight sets

Smoky prediction - Weitering to ask to be traded at season's end

I'd be surprised if the bolded happens.

Carlton would be a close second favourite for the spoon, so I don't know what would have to happen for them to sack Bolton.

As for Geelong, they have IMO an extremely shallow list, I'd be very, very surprised if they were in the top 4 at the end of the H&A season.

1 Bombers , Tigers , Pies and Demons all make the top 4

2 Everyone who matters from anywhere that matters enthusiastically
gobs on about how amazing this is for football

3 AFL executives use 50% less Viagra than usual

4 interstate whiners bleat on that maybe this isn't that amazing for
football at all

5 Bombers win the flag over the Demons and supporters unleash a wave of vitriol and pent up resentment that almost tops the Tiger 2017 tsunami

Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

I suspect they would, yes.

3 AFL executives use 50% less Viagra than usual

If there's one thing we know, those mongrels don't need viagra...

Eagles fans? Almost certainly. The rest? Meh, I reckon they'll be ok.

Yeah. :D

I think Geelong will win their allotted games at Skilled Stadium (or whatever it is called these days). That is something that normally make happen. They'll still get their usual home ground output from the big names. They'll then do enough to scrap together enough bully boy wins against mediocre sides to push their percentage up. Dalhaus and Rohan will make a difference, but they'll be found wanting come finals and get fleeced.

Carlton will just be genuinely horrendous. Even though they won't be expected to improve a lot, the reason he will be sacked will be gross disharmony with him and the playing group. It'll end up being untenable and a bit of a Rodney Eade type situation at the Gold Coast.

That's just my feel.
