Title is misleading. He was not in the midfield rotation. He played high half forward (the Murph/Gibbo role).

The 7 mids were Doc, Newnes,Walsh, Ed, Dow, Kennedy and Cripps (ex ruckmen).

It would be great to see him trialled as an afl mid properly before season is out but won’t happen while they’re running with Dow/Kennedy.

I saw him running from half back to receive from Cripps who was the stationary link man. He certainly was all over the place. I don't think positions matter in a team offence or defence.

Thought you lads were delisting him at the end of the season....was hoping WC would roll the dice...

Hasn't progressed as much as many would have liked, but there would never have been a thought to delist him.

He was on ball a bit in the second.

Was at the game and he warmed up with the midfield group and also started on the wing for quite a few centre bounce. He definitely rotated through forward and midfield.

Won't be delisting, but he may still be on the trade table. My preference is to hold on to him though..

There's just so much untapped talent and potential on our list. SPS a prime example. His "body of work" to date has been bugger-all, but you can see what he COULD be. And hopefully WILL be (at Carlton). Get him and Dow going in the midfield and the Blues can surge (up to mid-table, hahaha).

Looks so much better when he is thinking less and playing on instinct. The outside mid we’ve been crying out for. Reckon there is still a high ceiling for Samo…

Yep the reason we identify and select these guys is their natural instinct and talent for the game, then we put them in boxes and say we want you to play like this and give up your natural instinct which was their strength to display their talent?

Yup.

The rest of our draw is actually fairly soft. Only 2 teams currently in the top 8 for the rest of the year.

While Finals is no longer realistic, it is still a mathematical possibility.
