Also, Richmond might be able to get pick 32 from Geelong...because ATM we are losing Zantuck for nothing


i also think myself that instead of us getting Pick 16, why don't we say, give us 12 and give 16 to Carlton?

Adding to what you've said, we lose our pick 20 to Carlton, for their pick 25.

That was said on SEN.

What i've heard also is that we will be getting something else outta this trade, either a player or low 2nd-early 3rd round pick, although this is just a rumour still.

NO F*****KING WAY... the Age reckons we're going to get picks 9,16,25 and lose Ottens, Zantuck, picks 20 & 36.

Tell em they're dreaming... if that goes ahead, l will fair dinkum MURDER someone.

Carlton would gain picks 12, 20, 36 and Leigh Harding and only lose 9 and 25. They drop back by three spots in the first round and seem to jump 5 spots in the 2nd round as well as pick up Harding.

Get stuffed Ottens... you can go to Collingwood!

Looks like it was just the 3 way with Melbourne and Geelong giving us 12 and 16. Decent result, could have been better, could have been a LOT worse.

Otto gone for picks 12 and 16 and Fiora gone for Simmonds.

Been quietly watching the various posts and amazed by the counteruintuitive ramblings of various tiger supporters. i.e Ottens is a hack, Simmonds is something other than a journeyman footballer.

Fact: Despite recovering from a back injury Ottens has still been rated 9th and 16th in the last two years on Stats rating (noted the ratings are heavily weighted in ruckmens' favour). Ottens was good in 2002 and terrific in 2001. It may be that his back injury will prevent him from progressing but he is still an exceptional talent with some flaws agreed (indecisive/slow to move the ball in general play). Contrary to some postings however Otto is good when the game is tight. It just happens that we have been so crap for three years that he hasn't had the chance to display that.

Make no mistake Otto was pushed. To be offered $300k when you are on $450K is an insult and no self respecting manager could do anything less than look after his client's interests. When your club offers you a 33% pay cut and another club offers an increase and the possibility of playing in finals the decision to leave is a no brainer. I am certain that Otto would have stayed if offered $400k and I would rather have had Otto for three more years at $1.2M than Simmonds for 5 years at 1.5m.

While I applauded the appointment of Wallace as coach (liked Eade equally as much) those hailing the messiah should keep in mind that Wallace traded Montgomery and Powell to get Eagleton and gave away Leon Cameron.

I hope that our draft picks turn out trumps. Will be keeping an eye out for nos 12 and 16 and comparing their progress against Otto's.
