Is it really an achievement to keep two players who have been dropped this year.

With Dougal Howard (whom I rate as a very good player) back and Pittard struggling to maintain his spot, Port could have Trengove, Pittard and Lobbe playing regular SANFL footy.

That is, conservatively, $1.5m Salary Cap wasted. That is poor list management.

So yeah Rooch, keep banging on about how great it is to keep those players......

Read a copy of the paper today whilst having lunch in a cafe (so didn't pay for it)

Rucci up to his old tricks. One article is about players leaving and that we should all be mature enough to have discussions about them meeting with clubs etc. Mentioned Lever (surprise, surprise)

Then has another article about Port's free agents and slips the line in about a "The club that is able to hold onto their free agents" and reference Trengove and Pittard

Here's a hot tip Rucci: NO ONE WANTS SPUD PLAYERS WHICH PORT HAVE IN DROVES. ADELAIDE DRAFTS BETTER PLAYERS, WE DEVELOP THEM INTO BETTER PLAYERS SO THEY ARE MORE IN DEMAND THAN YOUR PACK OF SPUDS WHO CAN'T BEAT A TOP 8 TEAM IF THEIR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT

That's why our players get poached and Port's don't!
This is such a typical Rucci move, as always he just has to slip in some slight against the Crows in pretty much everything we writes and it's always used to try and create a perception that Port are superior to Adelaide.

He is also guilty of blatantly focussing on whatever issue Adelaide is confronting and massively overstating it, but will then totally disregard the same circumstances when it affects Port.

So at the moment it suits his narrative to bang on about players leaving because it's something that he can use to subtlety try and suggest that Port are better.

I am still yet to hear him make a big song and dance about the Port supporters who left early against St Kilda, ironically though I remember him bagging Crows supporters for weeks on the radio about leaving during the Melbourne game when we were 18 points down claiming that he was going to continue to bring it up because "he'll never forgive the Adelaide supporters for doing that", yet Port supporters stream out and miss Port winning and he doesn't mention it or make any sort of big deal about it.

But hey it's just all our "perception" right ?

Classic Rucci

Rootchi will never change or grow to be a respected worthy journalist. He doesn't seem to realise how he diminishes himself because of his PA background and thus persecution and Crows paranoia. His current repetitive boosting of Adelaide's ladder position, top 2 certainty and suggested grand final appearance, is all Part of wanting the Crows to get ahead of themselves. His team has failed and in true thinly veiled fashion his agenda is just so childish. Just so childish. Well done Advertiser.

Rootch doesn't get it. That Port banner was lame-o. A total embarrassment for the club. It's not about not having a sense of humour. I appreciate humour. The banner was just dumb

BANNER NOTES

A NEW Showdown tradition has begun — and in good time considering some were suggesting last week that the Port Adelaide-Crows derby had lost its ability to create hype (and who would be responsible for that?)

So the challenge is before the Adelaide Football Club cheer squad. Can you remove enough of those corporate ads from the banner to create a witty and entertaining run-through banner for Showdown 44 whenever this derby may unfold, perhaps in September with the AFL finals or in April next season.

If anyone responsible for making the banner is reading this, please don't bother. We're better than them, more significant than them, and don't suffer from little brother syndrome. They exist to be an anti version of our club.

The showdown is their Grand Final, it's not ours. Let's act like it.

I am willing to bet that if our cheer squad did something like that first, he would have bitched and complained about it being poor taste.

Once again because Port did it, "it is awesome".

So typically Rucci

If we win the flag this year we could have

3 premierships > 1 premiership

The Adelaide Football Club, we exist to win premierships

That would definitely get the tears flowing with the ferals

Are these the same corporate ads that make an equal appearance on Port's banner?
