He is not in great form. Still runs heaps, gets around the ground and sacrifices his own game at times, tries his guts out, love him. But he is playing for frees too much, running under the ball, and can't take a contested mark to save himself - he's naturally better on the lead of course, but they just ain't sticking at the moment. It's been a long season.

Can't see him holding onto to the lead for the Coleman, and does anyone think maybe his place at FF in the AA team is under threat?

Has still had a fantastic year overall

If he doesn't win the Coleman, he is zero chance of being AA. Even if he wins the Coleman, they'll probably give the AA to Jack or Buddy.

Forget the opposition, forget the umpires & just attack the footy ferociously. If he does that it should turn for him sooner rather than later, but at the moment he seems to be very distracted with things out of his control.

Having flashbacks to last year. Buddy kicks 10 in the last round to overtake Kennedy, who then only gets one in the last home and away game.

Something NQR about Brown, hopefully Waite in helps. Wouldn't mind Larkey having a go, think it might open it up for Brown to get on to a few as the defence doesn't know where to look.

A lot of the lack of leading comes from him having a minimum of 2 defenders on him at a time.

One defender always blocks his run, which should be a free, but isn't called.
That's an indictment on waite and wood then, as its clear JZ is playing his part in the forward line...

Imo, Brown has playing with a niggling lower leg injury for the last month or so...

Porkins will get in. Buddy is likely to get in. BBB needs to win the Coleman to get in.

Edit. Forgot about junktime jack. He'll get in. Getting tight.

He definitely looks spent as a lot of players do. But he is getting triple teamed every week and constantly being blocked

Only needs a breakout game like next week to get his confidence back up

If he can get this sorted over preseason he'll be even better in 2019.

He's so obviously affected by the 2-on-1 clogging his lead it's a simple technique that every opposition will employ for the rest of his career.

Gotta work through it or in afraid he'll never archive his full potential.

He isn’t hitting his leads as hard as he was at the start of the season. Just not getting separation.

Needs to stop playing for free kicks, he isn’t getting rewarded for throwing his arms in the air
Well he may play for frees but on the weekend he should have at 3 free kicks giving to him but the umpires turned the other way

He looked like he'd run himself into the ground by halftime from working upfield to allow W80 to ease back in at FF.

By the time he was plonked forward he was spent and the Lions' double teaming and blocking gave him little chance.

Hoping the 8 day break does wonders for him and that he returns by tearing the Dogs a new a-hole!

Can see him kicking a bag on Sunday

Several goals kicked by other players on the weekend were due in no small part to Brown's presence.

Waite had a field day when there were aerial contests close to goal, because was able to play as unmarked crumber.

If you don't know football, you assess Brown's output only on the goals he kicks himself.

He's working hard and playing team football but I doubt he or the coaches think he's in superb form either. We'll be able to tell either way when the Syd votes for these later rounds are revealed.

I know he's getting a lot more attention, but he's standing and wrestling a lot more than he's done over the last 24 months.

He kicks bags when he gets the ball on the lead, i know his leading lanes are getting blocked up, but he's still getting far less of the ball on the lead than he ever has.

Westerns have no defenders anywhere near the quality of Harris Andrews, i expect Browny to get a bag of of some description, but whether it is big or small is the big question, Hawkins and Buddy getting closer is all the inspiration he needs (and a bit of quality delivery) ;)
