Must admit l was getting frustrated with Benny. Know there are circumstances ( no Waite, dicky knee, bad umpiring, poor delivery ) but he really needed a 6 or 7 goal game to say " yep, l can do this " and have a 60 + goal season to stamp himself.
It's always been about the 'forward unit'. Tonight he was the 'forward unit'.

He did what he was supposed to do. A very solid footballer.

He will be a star when we get the midfield right.
Yep, plus more support in the form of KPF's who are in form and providing options/decoys. Woody's still finding his feet and adding Loogie to the mix tonight helped enormously.

This year I wanted to see him do two things. I think they are important for his confidence and development and as a real gauge of how good he actually is.

Kick a bag (more than 5 goals,) preferably on several occasions.
and
Kick multiple goals in the last to seal a game.

He did both those things yesterday. He needed to - it was his best chance - against a smaller backline with injury issues so he needed to get it done. To his credit he did.

Now that he has done them once I want to see him do them more often.

I'd like to see more of it, when Durdin manages to hold down a spot.

Browny could be the most honest player in the competition.

He consistently does the basics well, and he gutses it out no matter what the score board reads.

Majak should get all of Brownys tapes and lock himself in a room & watch them. Every night of the week.

The first goal - Wood on a lead to Brown on a lead looked nice. Open fast and free flowing. I hope its the way of the future.

2009 - knee reconstruction at 17
2010-2012 - overlooked for three consecutive drafts while playing for Tasmanian clubs
2013 - moves interstate and kicks 29 goals for Werribee. Drafted by North Melbourne at pick 47.
2014 - earns debut in rd 14. Kicks four goals in his first final to help steer his new AFL club to their first finals win in seven years.
2015 - becomes regular fixture in the team playing 22 games playing second fiddle to Waite and Petrie. Kicks 32 goals but loses his marking rhythm and has a highly publicised poor finals series.
2016 - comes back incensed to improve his marking. Finishes fifth overall in most contested marks league wide. Wins his first leading goal kicker award at North with 41.
2017 - now leads an AFL club's attack. Kicks his first bag of 5 or more in game six of the season. Averaging 2.8 goals a game.

Huge tick for our recruiters when you consider the price that was paid for other top young key forwards and prospects like Lynch, Cameron, Daniher, Boyd, Patton, etc.

Would still be on a fraction of his actual worth.
