I don't know about high flying, but that's exactly the type of industry I'm involved in. You sign a contract for a fixed period and if your employer decides to terminate that contract early, they have to pay full value.

The only people with contracts like those described before would be people on wierd CBA's, like footballers, and workers on individually negotiated contracts in a sellers market (I.E execs) and some ex-pat workers in risky or remote locations that are not FIFO. I.E. a tiny fraction of the workforce. Back on Planet Real Life the rest of us get paid out at one week a year on fixed term or permanent contracts or 0 bucks if you're a contractor.

I try not to, but every 20 or so negative comments about Harvey by other posters gets me to the point where I have to respond and then a shit storm comes my way.

They did shambolically change the song, that's why we've still got basically the same one. If they hadn't gotten everybody's backs up with the changes to the logo & jumper, we wouldn't have felt it necessary to cling to something remaining from the "old" club.

Players suspended without evidence, constant mispronunciation of players' names, Demetriou's encouragement of the general public to take their angst out on Ballas, final at Skilled, wrong song played at the GF parade, wrong coach named in the AFL record...yeah, we get respect from everywhere.

I didn't draw that bow at all, I merely pointed out a few examples that tend to indicate that Salim's post about us being respected throughout the footy world is wishful thinking.

Despite the morsels singled out, I'd say that respect has been paid all September for our on-field performance by the vast majority of the footy public and media alike. Nobody is ridiculing the club today like we used to be because of any board decisions made in recent times. I state this sparingly because I can't help but sense a hasty quote and various links by questionably qualified, part-time journos trying in vain to pick apart and address the negatives in our club from somewhere..
