I was a Junior(Year 11) in high school then. I'm so grateful that my teen years(1965-72) were spent during a classic time for music.

Did you ever see the Dead?

No. Never went to any concerts when I was young. My brother did in the early 70s and still does and he's 60. He's going to Vegas to see KISS in two weeks.

Best band ever, they were superb, that was the last time they’d all play live together.

Interestingly after this, they still got back with G Martin and made Abbey Road.

In the 70s Harrison played on the Lennon song, Gimme Some Truth.

Weren't they just copying Jefferson Airplane?
I'm pretty sure they did something similar in New York in late 1968 and it was filmed by Jean-Luc Godard who was located in a apartment in a nearby building.

Apparently the Let It Be documentary is being redone by Peter Jackson, so hopefully we get a cinema release this year or next year and it should have the entire rooftop stuff and unreleased footage. It’s already a damn good band documentary in my opinion, but I think Jackson will make it pretty damn great.

It’s a fly on the wall “The Office” style doco. Nuggets of gold everywhere.

Did not realise that. Will definitely be one I'll be keen to watch.

Regarding the youtube clip. Was produced by a friend of mine. I was honestly blown away that he not only got the people he got to play but that it turned out so well. I mean I knew it would be good because he's been doing this kind of thing for a long time and is even qualified as much as one can be but it just sounds magnificent. Davey Lane has all the original instruments used - George's rosewood tele, John's Epiphone Casino and a Hofner bass. They just sound so good. He was all set to have drone footage as well which would have taken it to the next level but sadly it was restricted air space and he couldn't get a permit.

Yep, no doubt it was the inspiration, wouldn't even surprise me if some of the band were at the Jefferson Airplane concert, even in disguise. Either way, it inspired the Beatles. They probably even joked "Let's do a JA gig on our Apple studios roof". Mythology probably just hides it.
