Leave it in case some muppet has glued it to the ground and is watching from a distance pissing himself laughing as people fail to get it off the ground!

It is usually a $2 coin though in this instance!
You just subtly nudge it with your foot as you walk up to it to check if this is the case without looking like an idiot.

Happened to me, once. I was up in Queensland, lurching along the Queens Street Mall after a hard night on the tiles in Brisvegas when I saw fifty cents on the ground. I nearly fell over trying to pick it up, and as I did so a shadow fell across me. All of the sudden this huge creature, this giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era, comes out of nowhere and says 'Goddamn it, dat fiddy part of my tree fiddy you bastard!"

F*cked if I knew what to do next. My mind was gone.

Get ****ing real if you say you wouldn't pick it up. 50c is half a dollar.

How many would have to be on the ground for you to be interested?

Haha good call. I didn't think of more than one. Maybe anything more than $5 in total?

Point at it, laugh and say out loud "hahaha - a poor man's currency, I deal in green bills".

No but seriously, 50c are clunky, heavy, big pains in the arse. I hate doing a George Castanza and walk around with a bulky wallet so the 50c are usually the first to go into the change jar before I go out. So, Id probably leave it.

Pick it up and head to the nearest Maccas

this thread makes me believe theres a who subspecies out there who only buy mcdonalds with found money, and if they actually desire mcdonalds but cant find any money in the dirt, they wont actually get some using their own money

Definately pick up all gold coins I find..

I'd probably pick up 50c too, althought I don't think I've come across that many 50c coins.. maybe too big to lose?

Would leae 5c/10c/20c alone I think though, unless there were enough of them to equal 50c or more :P

This happened to me. $2 coin on Nicholson St - Infact if was a couple of $2 coins. I was thinking 'Jackpot' - They were glued - I had a chuckle at first thinking about the prank that I'd been done with.

But then when I realised it was directly out the front of the Indigenous Healthcare Centre, I felt like the prank was a little more sinister... and I wasn't chuckling as much... Feel like I wasn't the intended target of the prank...
