Too bad we don't have anyone else remotely capable. I was always disappointed we didn't grab an experienced ruckman before this season.

And we will get excuses again no doubt. "No back up ruckman" "got killed early in his career" etc etc etc..Problem is, he's our best option.
Wonder if we should have kept Cam Cloke, he has a real dip.

i think Bryan has a real dip but he is no good too.

seriously though, we should think about trading him, he has been at the club for just on 10yrs and has failed to have a consistent impact on a season yet, get rid of him whilst he still has some sort of bloody value, he is just as useless as Bryan, the difference is Bryan actually cares about the result of the game and puts his body on the line at every opportunity to try and physically impose himself on a game, which he did again today, he was much better in the ruck than Josh today!
put Bryan and Wood in for a go see how it pans out, couldn't turn out any worse than it did today!

Ok lets trade him after round 1

What is wrong with this bloke, seriously he is the most useless ruckmen I don't think I saw him get one hit-out to advantage, and he is not injured at all so there is no bloody excuses....he is so bloody soft its beyond amusing!

he is injured, was meant to be back round 3.

He is still better than our other ruckman. Says a lot about our ruck stocks though...

Fraser is ever lazy or soft really needs the pressure to be put on him to perform or shown the door, he is like Tarrant it doesnt mean enough to him.

oh my, whats wrong with him now, a small back complaint or something like that, he's gotta harden the f*** up and play through it like Dane did pretty much all last year!!

agreed, he would be an ideal back up ruckmen. i think that is what we should be aiming for!

If Fraser is injured, he should not be playing. He and Davis have one thing in common - if they play injured, they are unable to play through the injury.

we can bi##tch and moan all day long on how c..rap fraser can be and how we all get our hopes up ever year for him .... but the realistic truth is he's the best we've got and the moment which is a vry vry sad truth... we've givin him 10yrs in the system now and put enough faith in him and time after bloody time get let down .....bryan although he tries and put his head over and give a contest everytime he's not a number one ruckman.... and wood just hasnt quiet come on yet as many thought he would ( hopefully in time he will) ...... we all just have to pray a miricale happens or lachlan Keeffe pulls something out and becomes a star...

Neither ruck had any real impact today.

It was not a day for the rucks.

A lot of run and carry.

That is why they benched Bryan for so long. He is less mobile than Fraser.

There wasn't a decent ruckman on the ground today.

I know Wood hasn't been in form but I'd play him and make a call at the end of the year. He at least has the potential to be a ruckman. If you are in your 10th season and never had 1 good one as a ruckman then surely it is fantasy hoping for something to magically apppear.

Carlton has the worst ruck division in the league by a street and they are competitive. Rucking is a useless part of the game that doesn't effect any result of any match unless something extreme happens. It's only about what your ruckman does around the ground.

Everyone's so quick to bag Fraser and it's always been the case. If Daisy had been a number 1 pick it'd be the same for him. And what's this nonsense about never having a good season? On his back we made two grand finals and in '06 he was awesome, and yes, he's a big game player. When he has decent back-up and, as such, is allowed to do what he was recruited for - to be a mobile ruckman cum forward, not a tap ruckman - he is a star. No tap-outs to advantage? Is he supposed to wrap it with a bow as well? In an even numbers contest at the bounce, surely we're a 50-50 chance to get the ball. It's not just his fault if 3 of ours get beaten by 3 of theirs. And you won't find a better big man for finding space - even in a congested forward line he's always by himself. He wasn't that bad yesterday, there were far worse. The biggest mistake I saw him make was let that sitter bounce off his chest. There are far greater problems with our team than the solitary ruckman we have.
