Could you be anymore stupid?

He clearly said he had been crap all series and I replied with the figures of 1/28 (10) which he took in Sydney.

Can't be 100% accurate. If the bails are dislodged by 1st slip or silly mid-on and the batsman is not attempting a run, I assume it is run out in both instances.

The umpire would have to determine why a batsman was out of his ground. If the ball was at silly mid on and the stumps were broken, it would have been because the initial intention was to run. In Bopara's case, no attempt was made to leave his ground, he simply lifted his foot in error, therefore it was stumped.

Its a run out at any time if by a fielder thats not the keeper

The delineation between run out and stumping only relates to when its the keeper and then it depends whether they are attempting a run or not

Putting aside your cheap ad hominem comment. I should have followed the comments in the thread more closely. Jumped to the conclusion that in a thread specifically about the 5th ODI in Adelaide you were referring to that game.

Really ordinary pitch made for a very scrappy game of cricket, but a close finish is always enjoyable in the end. Thought Coulter-Nile bowled superbly (seem to recall someone making the utterly ridiculous call that he should never play for Australia again after the first ODI) and whilst McKay started shakily he eventually showed his class. Not sure on Faulkner being MOtM in this game, but he is a bloody handy cricketer that is for sure.

His bowling in the power play was absolutely exceptional

But at the same time, created a real contest between bat and ball which makes a refreshing change from batsmen just teeing off all the time.

It was a bit too slow for my liking - don't get me wrong I especially enjoy bowler dominated ODI's, but I felt that the pitch made for some pretty ugly cricket and didn't necessarily favour bat or ball.

Great win in the end. Thought Australia was no hope but terrific bowling. Watson is remarkably dependable with the ball in all forms of the game it is a shame he gets injured doing it so often.

How is finch man of the series? He played two good games and pissed his wicket away three times.

Being far and away the leading run scorer for the winning team helps, plus the fact they rotated the bowlers so much none of them could do anything as the only 2 who kept playing were pretty shit most of the time. McKay probably would have won it if he hadn't been dropped for most of the series, gun ODI bowler

Not good enough for a stump, but it appears he grabbed it for Clarke anyway.
I wasn't aware there were criteria for grabbing a stump.

That is the best piece of shithouse keeping i have ever seen.
I've seen stumpings before when the keeper has dropped the ball.

Give the Aussie heroics a rest.

England were pathetic, like they have been all summer.

NZ, SA, India, Pakistan and West Indies will be a lot tougher to beat in the ODI World Cup.

So? Its still England and we humped them. You're always a killjoy.

All this 'England were pathetic' talk is tiresome, I hear it constantly here in the uk, like it was theirs to lose, if they had played well they would of romped it in... Giles saying they should of won 3-2 made me s****** too.

They were poor but the Aussies deserve credit and plenty of it. thats two fighting wins this series after a proper domination in the ashes.

Thought NCN could have gone close to MOTM last night.

After an up and down series he finished off with his best game to date in Australian colours. Was important for us keeping the runs down and getting breakthroughs.

Has been a very entertaining series this one, two absolute crackers and decent games for the rest.

Incredibly unlucky, England, Australia had to rely on Wade for the last two wickets (although maybe he's found a way to handle those tricky stumpings in future:) ). What were the odds?

Seriously, I don't think Wade has earned too many Brownie points for selection going forward from this ODI series. Maybe time to have a look at someone else. (The T20s are basically a lottery, so probably a bit unfair to use those as an audition).

People are allowed to celebrate winning a game we looked like losing if they want.

Don't be a party pooper.

For someone that said he had no interest in odi's you seem to be paying a lot of attention. Not judging tho, better than the tennis! :D

Actually, I don't watch much and check the score from time to time out of academic interest. In situations like last night, I switch on if the game looks to be headed for an interesting finish. I saw the final couple of overs, and because they usually take so long to bowl, they show a lot of highlights from the match in that time.
