I guess this is goodbye.
Right now I would say most likely this trade doesnt happen.
Sydney wont give up what we want.
No it's realYeah I'm not buying it. This is just a classic media beat up. /s
They can hold on to him till they get the deal they want, because they could force him to stay, but they won’t - probably won’t play a game next year anyway.I don’t generally see trade situations like this, but I think it’s one of those where the club will genuinely keep him if it doesn’t get a good enough deal. And he’ll get on with it, at least for 12 months.
I reckon Sydney would've been in contact with Joe the whole time. Joe wouldn't be openly requesting a trade if they didn't commit to getting him there.
Essendon Football Club can confirm Joe Daniher has indicated his desire to be traded to the Sydney Swans.
General Manager of List and Recruiting Adrian Dodoro said the 25-year-old had cited a change in lifestyle and preference to live in Sydney as the motivating factor.
“The Club acknowledges the reason behind this request from Joe, however he is a contracted player to the Essendon Football Club,” Dodoro said.
"He is a very highly regarded player at our Club, and we have advised Joe that ultimately we want him playing for the Bombers in 2020.
“We will remain in contact with Joe’s management over the course of the upcoming AFL Trade Period.”
The Club will make no further comment at this time.
Sadly agree with this.should be building a list to compete and instead a player of this profile a bloody Daniher out of all names in our history wants to leave....
