Seems to really straighten us up more. Our transition and forward entry just seems so much more natural when we have one of daniher/gumbleton/carlise as fwd targets

We had zero to kick to in the last quarter. Carlisle was the only one and Mckenzie defended amazingly well however he did kick that ever so important goal still.

I think Crameri will play next week. He was running around after it in a thought of going back on the sidelines but the club then decided against it i think.

In the first half it really appeared we needed a Daniher or a Gumby in; also noticed him missing when we were kicking long to a contested mark out of defense and no one had the presence to take it. I thought our forward structure looked very average for most of the game.

As every week passes, more people are open to Hurley back which would open the door to more Daniher/Gumby games. We looked a hell of a lot better last night when the switch was made.

Gumby/JoeD only replace TBC no one else and either needs to be able to support Ryder in the ruck for small amounts. Its evident we cant go too tall either. Crameri out would be interesting to see the way they go.

Remember how outsanding the westcoast tall defenders are its bloody hard to get a kick on guys like Glass, Emac, Schofield ect they are very defensively great.

I think ATM our best is probably JoeD, Carlisle forward with Crameri 3rd tall. Ryder rotating forward it may also be an opportunity for Carlisle to ruck hes 200cm+ and it may not open up JoeD so much but he can ruck and is only required for short stints.

I don't get this "Daniher has to pinch hit in the ruck if he plays" line of thought.

He's a gun forward and spud ruck. As soon as he moves into the ruck, our forwardline is worse and our ruck is worse.... it's dumb. He should play as a pure FF. Apart from Carlisle (who is being played back) Dainher is the only quality KPF we have on the list. Yet he only gets a gig as a second ruck? WTF.

No rucks just play a pure 100% game time in the ruck all day though, someone else has to help. Who would it be if as suggested JoeD was to come in and replace TBC? who else besides Joe would it be?

I must admit the very latest way of rucks is leaning towards just a single ruckman but they all still get chop outs. Goldstein from Petrie, Jolly from Lynch, Jacobs from Jenkins or Mckernan, NicNat/Cox, Z.Clarke with Hannath, Nicholls with Dixon/T.Lynch, Pyke/Mumford, Kruezer with Hampson/Casboult.

It really depends who we are playing. The very recent modern game is more a genuine sole ruckman though i must admit.

Daniher should be the first selected in the forwardline, he will be an absolute superstar. You fit everyone else around him.

This Hurley forward nonsense needs to end. Hurley, Carlisle, Hooker should be the KPD. Throw in Hibberd, Dempsey, whoever (Bagel?) and that backline is ironclad. Daniher forward with Ryder/Bellchambers or Ryder/Gumby.

So out Pears, in Daniher.

Daniher owned that forwardline against Gold Coast. As soon as he went in the ruck, we lost a focal point up forward and got beaten in the ruck as well. It's a waste.

So your gonna "fit everyone around a 2 gamer"

"Daniher owned that forwardline against GoldCoast" yep its only goldcoast and he was good for a half.

One of Carlisle/Hurley need to play forward IMO. I think we could potentially play all 3 Ryder/TBC/JoeD as one would be subbed off early in the 3rd but even then im not sure.

Your structure could also work. Are we too big down back with Hurley, Carlisle and Hooker? or can Hurley play that 3rd tall back role to a tee?
