He couldn't be a worse kick than Cloke... Could he?
He's not in the Richo/Cloke/Franklin group who regularly shank shots OOF. Joe makes good-very good contact the majority of the time and misses well, if that makes any sense at all.

He's 20, he just needs to bed down a routine and work on it, just as gumby did

Lets be realistic - On what JD has shown at all levels, his kicking for goal is below average. On what i've seen Cloke and Franklin are more reliable shots at goal - Not by alot - And you are good kick under any conditions.

JD's a young boy that is going to have a lot of responsibility as a KPP for us in 2014.
I think he will be very inconsistent not only during the year but even through games, he might have a first half of 10 marks 4 goals and then 2 more touches for the rest of the game.
Also clubs will be sending their best defenders to him, he will learn a lot this year.

Don't know about him kicking 8-9 goals next season like some people said, I'd be happy to see a few games of 4's and 5's maybe a 6..
On the other hand don't know how many expected Camron to have the year he had, so you never know...

Just throwing it out there as a hypothetical.. Chuck Pears forward and swing Hurley back (post Fletcher era)? In that case we get the Hurlisle backline, and I'd guess Pears can be like a fill in forward role - he has the burst of speed to burn on the lead

Still don't think Joe will be best 21 next year. In and out I reckon. Still too soon.

I do hope to be proven wrong though.

With Crameri and Gumby gone.. Joe will be playing a majority of games.

Regardless.. I think JD will perform well enough to hold his spot. Maybe like a young Hawkins.. will be inconsistent for sure but the upside is huge and experience will count for everything..

Yeah for suer. 201cm and 94kg, it says on the club site. At the start of next season, i want him to be somewhere around 205cm and 100kg!

Geez, quite demanding to get him to somehow control his height.. unless we have a secret, new supplement for it? :p

I know I'd love to grow just 1 more cm to be an even 180cms, but no amount of stretching or hanging on my legs has worked so far!

Big Joe already has a monster frame, any extra growth left in him is just a bonus!
