Not really. I think you'd find it hard to argue against the fact that it's only recently Zach Merrett has become not underrated. He was playing at a level that belied public opinion for quite a while. It's hugely commonplace that public appreciation and understanding lags behind performance
the point he was making is why does anyone care whether opposition supporters or commentators think your players are over/underrated. generally, you know your own players better than opposition supporters do.

i think guys like Fantasia, Joe and Zach are getting a lot of credit this year. but it's like the football world only started noticing them, despite the fact they all played really well last year, in extremely tough circumstances

ultimately, Joe is already halfway to his end of year goal tally, and he's a 3rd of the way through the season. if he can kick 60 goals, i think we'll be well placed to make it back to the finals.

Over and under rated are the biggest bullshit terms ever. How exactly do you work out what his rating is and then whether his performance is over or under that mark? Not sure why people get caught up on this?

I understand what you are saying.
I would say that when most footy fans talk player ratings in this context its probably more of a comment on player popularity rather than a direct skill assessment.

Daniher's 4th on the shots at goal for this year, behind Kennedy, Cameron and Franklin.

I think our boy will have some great battles over the next 5 years for the Coleman with Tom Lynch and Cameron

I know the stats aren't readily available, but I'd love to know how many times they have been targeted going forward and what percentage of their respective teams forward entries this comprises. Just from observation it seems that while Joe is having his best season so far we are also less focused on him solely.
