When someone has made up their mind about someone their opinion rarely changes, and you're the perfect example of that. Hansen is in our best 3-5 players every week, ever since he went down back (1 or 2 for marks, 3-5 for disposals) and you always see the mistakes he makes. What did you think when ziebell turned it over and hawks scored a goal, or when cunnington always gets done for holding the ball? Imagine if hansen made those mistakes
Mate, I wasnt even talking about Hansen in my last post, was referring to Petrie. Give it a rest!

How do you rate our defensive positioning over all today JR and do you think it's making it any harder for the blokes out there today?
No idea why you would start Spud on Cloke, Delaney is the logical choice, Hansen cant play one-on-one footy thats a proven fact...look we are undermanned defensively so we just have to make do and try and outscore them, thats it in a nutshell!

Agree on Delaney today definitely, but tbh it wouldn't matter a dam who we put on him today with the time and space the Pie mids have enjoyed.

Another good game by the Mow Man.
Beaten a couple of times by Cloke, but took a great mark back with the flight of the ball late. Part of a backline missing its two best one on one defenders.
His development this year has been nothing short of phenomenal since he went back.
His hands are awesome and he's developed strength over the ball and got a bit of shit into his game too.
His disposal has also been excellent.
One of the real positives of this year. A full season like that next year and he'll be close to AA. Who'd have thought that???

Not his best game today but our whole back line conceded 100 points so he wasnt alone.

Got dragged out of contests early by Lynch and dropped a few marks, but his mark running into the flight with Cloke charging him down was symbolic of his transformation this year.

And great for him to have a preseason knowing he will be a key defender in 2014. Can set himself for a huge year.

The best thing that happened this week was Dry Reacher not posting for 6 days but alas the true blue sit in front of the TV supporter couldn't stay silent. I've been posting on and off for 6 or 7 years and I can honestly say I haven't come across anything like him. He makes out like he's an aficionado of the game we call AFL but in reality he comes up short from every angle. His criticisms aren't genuine but are filled with hate. You would swear Lachlan had killed his family the way he puts him down at every opportunity. He even potted Drew last week. It is irrational and borderline psychotic. I will gladly take you on in 2014 JR. Along with many others I will ridicule you at every opportunity. We will use the anonymity that Big Footy provides to our advantage. See you next season!!

I'm yet to use the ignore function bud, and don't really want to.....but **** me you are the one that is crying out for me to use it. Your negativity knows no bounds about this bloke. Just give it a rest, no one cares.
Have to disagree on this LB2S. It seems everyone cares. I've had this guy on ignore for ages, but keep hearing just about everyone (it seems) bleating about him; seems lots of you care.

Above all, I like the combination of desperation and calmness he displays down back. Great job Lachie; here's to an even better 2014. :thumbsu:

Lachie arguably had his best season thus far for the NMFC. It wasn't a flash start as he struggled for consistency up forward. The lions game comes to mind were Majak's debut and output in a quarter dwarfed Lachie's output for the match. But Brad Scott made one of his best coaching decisions in his career and placed Hansen back playing the role of the third tall/loose man. Scott had attempted to play Lachie in this role early in 2012 but without success as Hansen struggled with injury and a loss of form. This time Hansen thrived in the role which played to his biggest strengths - Contested Marking and his Endurance. In addition Hansen kicked with more penetration and speed and set up a number of plays offensively from the backline.

My biggest concern with Hansen is his ability to go one on one, especially deep. Cloke in 5 minutes dominated Lachie. Lachie is also prone to the occasional brain fade but to be fair that critisim can be levelled at a number of our guys.

Moving forward I hope that Lachie continues to improve. As The Zebra once told me "Big Men Take Time" and finally that time came this season. What I don't want to see is Loogie Hansons rear his ugly head. Hopefully we are done with that Turkey. :stern look

Spud plays better closer to goal. Unfortunately Delaney got Reid because he is a better match up on him then the other defenders we had available. In a perfect would Delaney does go straight to Cloke. Like you say undermanned and had to make match ups that didnt suit the players.

We did miss our A Team in defence. Thompson perfect matchup for Cloke. Grima perfect matchup for Reid. And with the 2 of them in, Lachie has so much more freedom. Look forward to playing the Pies next year. Become an even contest.
