Hansen is good. I like him. A seemingly good bloke. I like the way he plays football about 80% of the time. 20% of the time, I do not like the way he plays football. But that is okay. I'm hardly going to send him hate, or even dislike, or even apathy mail. I just smile vacantly and hope that he plays well. If he does not, it is no biggie. I do not return to my secret dungeon behind the bookcase in my 4th study and put pins into my Lachie doll and mutter voodoo sentences into the midnight moon shadows. No. I just think 'yeah, that wasn't so good for a number 3 draft pick. But eh. Next week he'll be better, of that I am sure'.
All of this considered, if Loogie fetched something.... fetching.. On the market. I would entertain it. Especially if what we could trade him for fixed a pressing need on our list. I know we consistently finish a mind-blowing 10th or lower most years, but I'm willing to risk that. I'm willing to lay finishing 10th on the line and be aggressive at the trade table. It's risky. Because what if we don't finish 10th? What if we get a silky mid or something? I've taken many hours and breaths into brown paper bags, and I've got my head around this idea.
I'd say the defenders of Loogie are perhaps more passion-clouded, shrill and therefore misguided than the critics of him, coming across as starstruck fangirls squealing in the front row for one dropped guitar pick, one hair follicle... One 'glide in from the side mark'.. One 'kick that is good'. You know. Passion is good and all. But seriously.
In my measured, balanced and therefore correct opinion, Hansen is a very good player who is tradeable for the right price.
