When he starts taking #1 defenders and having structures setup around him - I'll agree with that.

That said, I have no issue with him being amongst the most important. His defensive pressure, attack on the ball and ability to score is extremely important.

No small forward in the comp gets the oppositions no.1 defender - in fact you could be on to something with the idea that small defenders will become more important in the next few years and could be gold if they can stop some of the best small forwards in the game.

Motlop is our second best scoring forward behind Hawkins and is the most important forward behind Hawkins.

I love Cobber McCarthy but them's the facts.
